It's official! 🚨 We've successfully recruited 3 new key team members to Fygë in the last 2 months. 🎉 - CTO - Head of Kitchen - CS & Sales Rep. Since this is a significant step in our business, and to talk more about the experience of building a cross-industry venture while feeding Helsinki's best offices, here are some takeaways I learned from this hectic recruitment round: - Gut feeling still plays a huge role when talking to candidates. You've to choose for cultural fit, otherwise, you could break things easily at an early-stage startup. - Choosing the right platform to post job openings is crucial. You save a ton of time and energy by only receiving relevant applications. Still, 70% of applicants are going to be rejected in the first round. - A properly named pdf CV with ONLY relevant information is underrated. 🫣 - Being on the recruiting side of the table requires at least the same amount of energy as being a candidate. All positions are different and you are looking for a diamond in the rough. Have at least 7 hours of sleep constantly. - It is crucial to sell the position to the right candidate, rather than simply evaluate their qualifications. - Candidates asking relevant questions or defending their point of view appeal to be much more interesting. We are looking for people with authority and responsibilities. Long story short, I am super happy that we could fill all the positions in such a short time. I was preparing for at least a 6 months recruitment period, which obviously couldn't happen. We're closing the books at the end of March and kicking off the new fiscal year with all the new members (and an exclusive officewarming party🤫). In recent years, I worked under NDA for fin-tech and ed-tech companies, built and sold my villa in Bali, learned to drive with left-hand traffic, and engaged in various interesting activities. This year, I want to continue my consulting activities but in a more open format. Through 15 years of working in Russian and international markets, I have accumulated extensive experience in project management, production, hiring, team development, enhancing HR branding, and much more. Can do this on my own and/or by collecting top specialists from the advertising industry, production, O2O/tech startups, and other corporations.
