The way companies conduct their AGMs is undergoing a shift, with the world slowly returning to pre-pandemic norms. As regulations adapt and shareholder preferences evolve, the need to strike a balance between tradition and innovation becomes ever more pressing. Our latest report, the 2023 Singapore AGM Insights Report, highlights how companies are tackling this balance. Some key takeaways from the report include: - Out of 173 companies that partnered with us, a notable 42% continued to value virtual meetings even as physical interactions made their return. - 67% of meetings saw an increase in attendance in 2023 compared to 2022. - However, 89% of meetings with surged attendance in 2023 had embraced either physical or hybrid formats. This past week I had the pleasure to assist 'the future of work: human capital trends' event, organized by the Swedish Swiss Chamber of Commerce and hosted by EF Education First. Thank you Eva Fiorenzoni for this great event! Here are some of my key takeaways from the presentations of Carolina Granat, CHRO at ABB Ltd and Klementina Pejic, CPO at Swisscom. - the aging population and low unemployment rates increase talent management challenges in an already strong workforce competition landscape and companies need to rethink what they offer. One aspect, among many others, is to be more mindful of the different regions and cultures' diversity when considering attracting and retaining talent. There is a more pressing need to be more local to local again. - Employee and customers' experience is a priority; silo units need to become cross functional teams and fix teams need to develop into flexible interdisciplinary teams. - Decentralisation is a winning strategy when it comes to people empowerment as it gives accountability and engagement and with decentralisation the need to stimulate collaboration grows even stronger, which mirrors the interconnectedness of the ecosystems we evolve in, thus the need to become more agile and collaborative in a fast pace environment. #fastpace #agile #interconnectedness #collaboration #futureofwork
