It's on! The participants of our Sustainability Acceleration Programme's 1st workshop explored Sustainability Strategy and Transition Thinking. Delving into the why's, what's, and how's of sustainability, they took the first step in developing their sustainability strategy. This workshop, powered by TheRockGroup (TRG), is part of a series aimed at helping the 10 ventures in the programme incorporate sustainability practices for growth and enhanced business development. Time for change 🌍 I have decided to use my experience from the last 9 years as Former CEO of the Danish Green Investment Fund and Chief Sustainability Advisor in #EIFO Export and Investment Fund of Denmark to become an independent Strategic Advisor with focus on strategy and sustainable finance. We - as a society, company or individual - still have a lot of work ahead of us before we have handled our climate and biodiversity challenge. I strongly believe that green and sustainable transition has to go hand in hand with good business. To achieve scalability and thereby the needed positive impact. 🌿 We need to move from WHY we need to creative positive impact to HOW we actually do it. The only way to move forward is to secure a sustainable transformation of value chains in our companies and/or organizations. In other words a revised strategy that at the same time strengthens the competitive advantage and creates positive impact. Great to be part of last week session hosted by Angelo Valencia and by Community Sustainability Ventures in the Philippines in an event themed "Sustainability, a Transformation Journey" 🍃 Angela Kwan discussed how to integrate social impact and sustainability into corporate strategy and introduced Catalyser to the Nickel Asia Corporation Sustainability Team, the Philippine Mineral Reporting Code (PMRC), and the The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE). Highlights of our discussion included: 1️⃣ The evolution from Corporate Philanthropy to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and further into Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. 2️⃣ The importance of aligning sustainability goals with business objectives, ensuring that initiatives are not just beneficial but integral to business models. 3️⃣ Strategies for engaging stakeholders across the spectrum – from leadership to communities – in meaningful, impactful actions. It was great to cover the role of technology, through platforms like Catalyser's, in amplifying and managing social impact efforts efficiently and to discuss how these tools can help integrate ESG in every function of an organisation.
