Hello to all our friends in the Austin Tech Community. 2024 is here and the Austin Technology Council is looking to bring our community closer over the next 12 months. Long time Austinite? Been here a few years? Or just got to town? It doesn’t matter. We need to make sure our tech community has a “One Austin” attitude. Gone are the days where all the groups try to be all things to all people. Nobody wins. ATC is working closely with several non-profits to support the whole (which means promoting each other’s events and helping everyone under the “Tech Umbrella” find their home in our diverse community). For our first event this year we are working with the Austin Venture Association. The ATC Roundtable breakfast is gonna feature Brad Bentz from ATX Venture Partners talking about the outlook of VC in the new year. Everyone is welcome. Sign up at the ATC website. Plus- good networking and a chance to make new connections. In 2024 there is a desire to have better networking events in Austin—- and that only works when you show up. Tip for networking in the new year… don’t just go to the same meetings with the same currated group of people. Be open to the serendipity of showing up at a variety of things and so not judge people before having conversations. Those whose lives are changed by networking connections will tell you they never imagined the person who helped the most was going to do anything for them.
