📢 We are pleased to announce the release of a comprehensive White Paper titled ‘𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘄’. Many sufferers of endometriosis know that it can be hard to be heard by medical professionals. This is a big factor in why it takes on average 9 years for women in the UK to be diagnosed with endometriosis, worsened by a systemic lack of disease understanding in endometriosis and other aspects of women’s health. This is why raising awareness is so important – to give patients a voice and, most importantly, for that voice to be heard. What a heartfelt response, grateful for each voice message, email, text, post reply, repost and hug that I have received for this news. It means more than you can imagine. When we started embarking on this NIH SBIR journey, we faced a choice: play it safe with a Phase I or leap into a Direct-to-Phase II. Despite convention and recommendations to be more cautious as this would be our first submission ever to the NIH, internally and with our amazing advisors we had confidence in our readiness. You all know, my team and I have been all but conventional, through this journey we’ve had the privilege of working with talented people. Awesome people together, can achieve great things. We decided to go for the steeper Direct-to-Phase II path and we were supported by visionary, experienced clinical partners who dedicated a lot of time to support our efforts to submit an application so we can advance cardiovascular care for women. Fast forward many reviewers (>30) and a promising high impact score later ...we received the recommendation to re-submit (yeah I wasn’t expecting that either, but it happens...) feedback was great, so we iterated and resubmitted. Taking risks is never easy, and challenges always present just before the rewards. It worked! Receiving the Notice of Award for a Direct-to-Phase II to propel our progress is SO exciting. What we will learn from the clinical study will enable us to further generate novel digital biomarkers for women’s health to improve outcomes in her personal heart story.  Everyone that supports our work at Bloomer Tech adds strength to the future we envision. Your impact is immeasurable, and I am grateful beyond words. Every step of the way we have gained strength by surrounding ourselves with you. "Using online search activity for earlier detection of gynaecological malignancy" I'm excited by the potential of this paper, which is the first to link clinical diagnosis with online search activity. See https://lnkd.in/eqq8gtQ3 It builds on much earlier work we reported here: https://lnkd.in/eqYENKvf More research is needed but I hope this eventually has positive impact on people's health.

"EndoRISE is starting the chain to make a change with endometriosis; we're opening the dialogue and modeling one way forward, but our hope is the impact will reach to other neglected areas of health for people with uteruses like adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, heavy menstrual bleeding, etc. Showing positive impact by programs like EndoRISE could create a ripple effect if other states take actions too." - Elise Courtois, Ph.D., an endometriosis researcher at The Jackson Laboratory. This Connecticut-based program brings together researchers, healthcare providers, and advocates to enhance research, support, and education. Spearheaded by JAX, UConn Health, and supported by a $50,000 grant from EndoFound, EndoRISE aims to create a comprehensive biorepository for research collaboration.
