At Elma, we know from our work with people living with hepatitis across the world that there is a huge amount of stigma living with the condition. As we look to mark World Hepatitis Day on 28th July, we join the World Health Organisation in its call for action now to improve testing, treatment and vaccinations to address the disease which currently leads to 1.3 million people dying each year. #WorldHepatitisDay You can find some visual guidelines here: https://lnkd.in/gPJ2Rq9w

Hepatitis affects more than 300 million people worldwide, leading to more than 1 million deaths each year. Even though effective vaccinations and medications exist, its rate of mortality continues to rise globally. On World Hepatitis Day, marked on July 28th, it is important to highlight awareness of the virus, and actions we must take to prevent further transmission. Hepatitis requires holistic effort, from spreading awareness to providing access to health facilities. At #SHINEHumanity, we have been providing screening services to an average of 1000 patients monthly for Hepatitis, while providing vaccinations and treatment. By continuing with our micro-elimination drives, we aim to eliminate the disease in rural Sindh. #SHINEHumanity #Hepatatis #WorldHepatitisDay #EmpowerRuralCommunities #PrimaryHealthcare #NGO #GoodHealthAndWellBeing #ResilientCommunities #TransformingLives #SehatSabKaHaq
