Valvular heart disease treatment has made impressive progress over the last two decades - yet not everyone is experiencing the benefits, even with new FDA guidance aimed at increasing diversity in clinical trials. For DCRI's Sreekanth Vemulapalli, one of the key areas that needs improvement is increase the diversity of patients at the beginning of the care pathway, but finding that exact time can be tricky: https://lnkd.in/eX4Cvydm #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #heartdisease #healthequity

Heart failure is a complex, progressive condition. For too long, patients have faced challenges accessing life-saving therapies like LVADs at the right time in their care journey—often leading to outcomes that don’t fully reflect the potential of modern treatments. That’s why this trial is so important. TEAM-HF aims to set a new standard in how we identify patients at high risk of developing end-stage heart failure. Using remote pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) monitoring, we’re working to take the guesswork out of decision-making to help providers identify those who could benefit from an LVAD earlier in the disease spectrum, potentially improving survival and quality of life.
