Wondering how to solve the housing crisis whilst tackling climate change? Me and Zoe Avison took on the planning system to give you all the answers in this new Green Alliance report. We conducted analysis tackling the question of when it can ever be good for the environment to demolish a building. We showed that carbon emissions were actually higher in a scenario where no demolition occurred and new houses were built on the urban fringe compared to demolishing and densfiying near public transport. Read the report for more analysis info, lots of case studies and policy recommendations. (Big thanks to Zoe for letting me play a part in her brainchild!)

🏘 Both Conservatives and Labour have committed to building 300,000 new homes a year. 🔎 Our new Build up report analyses the evidence and current practice to see how and where these new homes can be built. 🏗 England needs to avoid building on the green spaces we all value – inside and outside of urban areas.  👉 Read the report https://bit.ly/3RxPgty
