#MyColleges is a communications tool that benefits MTC members. When a learner shares where they are planning to apply or have applied within My Colleges, MTC uses that information to reach out to the college and share information about the Mastery Transcript and/or MTC Learning Record. There is no direct communication between learners and colleges within our site. The purpose of this tool is to prompt MTC to conduct outreach on behalf of members and make sure that school counselors can focus their time talking with admissions about specific students and advocating for why they are a great fit for that institution. #MyColleges #MasteryTranscript #MLR #Admissions #CollegeAdmissions

Pygmailon effect: The more you believe in your students and place high expectations on them, the greater their chances of success. The more negitive beliefs and low expectations you hold about them feed into your behaviours and attitude, however much you try to avoid them. This self-fulfilling prophecy puts educators at the forefront of student success. However, again, if you don't know what's shaping your belief, how can you change? Very often people place high expectations on students and end up working in the section of Doing things To students: high challenge and low support area of the social disapline window, resulting in disengaged and unmotivated students. Power dynamics are challenged in this areas and students will often opt out before facing failure. It's important to remember that in order to have high expectations, high support is needed to prevent the expectations being unobtainable and demoralising. "I know you can do this, and this is how we are going to get there!!"

It’s been a little while since we offered you a literacy learning strategy.⁠ ⁠ Our examinations come with these as part of the post examination activities - designed to increase student capacity and make them apply your feedback in a practical way. ⁠ ⁠ This one is all about ☂️ UMBRELLA TERMS ☂️ There are many terms within our syllabus that lead to additional words. This activity could be used to enable students to think of all the terms that are affiliated with this term and need to be used alongside this term. Students can think of the positive and negative words with these terms.
