This is one of many ways the Advancing Life Foundation is using your donation. Meet Hoku, a 19-week old fox red Labrador and facility-dog-in-training that works with the Orem, Utah police department to provide comfort to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. ASEA and the Advancing Life Foundation were lucky enough to have Hoku visit the global headquarters in Utah. Hoku is training to sit in during police interviews with victims to calm them and provide comfort while the victims share their experiences. Asea through the Advancing Life Foundation have funded 6 K9 ESD dogs, and 1 victim support dog. We are trying to raise money for two more dogs. Our goal will fund one and ASEA's match will fund the other. Will you consider a generous gift today? Your donation will help to fund the training of an ESD (electronic storage device detection dog) K9, for a police department in the US. These dogs are trained to be able to smell any electronic device up to 12 feet away; even if it is hidden behind a wall, in a ceiling or inside a stuffed animal. When police officers go on a search warrant having an ESD K9 will allow them to find any hidden evidence that they can use to prosecute child predators. This evidence is critical in taking such predators off the streets. I’m not a mean parent, uncle, or grandparent. But the grandparents who are now asking for a GoFundMe fund also knew what was happening during this baby’s last several months of life, they witnessed many signs of abuse. This is so sad, a GoFundMe sponsored by the grandparents does not help the baby. The mother also knew. Americans are slowly starting to realize that bad parenting is the biggest factor in violence, and that these parents are now starting to be held responsible for their children’s actions. We are starting to see this in school shootings and other tragic events involving teenage kids and older. We’ve been dealing with this “phenomena” for 25 years now, since Columbine. Bottom line, however, is how our legal system has been dealing with these issues, and how policy up till now has not been effective whatsoever in dealing with these issues and spending money on after-effects rather than root cause. Parenting is the root cause.

We believe every community deserves a criminal justice system that is fully transparent, accountable, and accessible. To get there takes a lot of work–everything from cleaning up old, messy data systems to changing culture.
