Thank you so much for an amazing stay in #Hokkaido and #Japan, Miho Tanaka and Hokkaido Innovation Week! It has been a truly inspiring journey, allowing me to introduce Avisomo #verticalfarming systems to the Hokkaido region and the Japanese market in general. Hokkaido is one of the most prominent food production regions in Japan, with the Tokachi subprefecture alone boasting an impressive 1200% food self-sufficiency! I now fully comprehend why Japanese cuisine is one of the most acclaimed on the planet; I do not think I’ve ever eaten this much good and exciting food in such a short period before. Time to shed some weight. However, as with most regions on the planet right now, Japan is also facing severe food production challenges due to #climatechange, and the summer of 2023 saw record-breaking levels of crop failure in all of Japan’s prefectures. Seeing how our systems and approach can help alleviate these challenges, it is very inspiring to learn about and consider how we can partake in Hokkaido’s forward-leaning startup ecosystem building and Japan’s green technology transition. Japan has now launched the world’s largest Green transition fund - Gx - green bonds to the total value of USD 1TN over the next decade! Should be interesting for all green startups who are looking for their next market opportunity. Along with strong corporate structures looking for international innovations and a trust-based business culture, it looks like a good match for nordic companies. To summarize: Can’t wait to be back, probably in not too long! Oh and I almost forgot: So happy I got to DJ a bit during the event as well! An honour to introduce some Nordic house and Oslo space disco as part of the cultural exchange program. I’m hereby officially adding my new product «DJ-set x vertical farming market development analysis» to my conference package. Next time I’ll consider performing them at the same time, Craig David’s block party-style. :D Most surprising experience: Dancing to resident DJ Daisuke playing Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas tracks at Sapporo’s most prominent electronic music club; Precious Hall. Amazing sound system!
