Applied Carbon has successfully raised $21.5 million in Series A funding for their carbon removal technology. 💵 The startup is focused on biochar production, converting agricultural crop waste into biochar. 🌽 This provides a solution for both farm waste and carbon sequestration. Applied Carbon’s machines are designed to work directly in the field, collecting agricultural crop residue and creating biochar all in one go.  🚜 This round was led by TO VC (to.vc), with participation from Congruent Ventures, Grantham Foundation, Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund, S2G Ventures, Overture , Wireframe Ventures, Autodesk Foundation, Anglo American, Susquehanna Foundation, US Endowment for Forestry and Communities, TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good, and Elemental Excelerator.
