🛠️ We're Bolting Off for Labor Day! 🛠️ This Labor Day, we’re giving our hardworking crew a chance to cool their engines. On Monday, September 2, 2024, ENSER will be closed as we hit the brakes and recharge. At ENSER, we fearlessly tackle challenges others can’t. Whether it’s tooling and fixturing design, custom machine design and building, FEA, turnkey solutions, fabrication, or lean manufacturing—we get the job done. Rest assured, we’ll be back on Tuesday, tightened up and ready to torque up those projects! Wishing everyone a day of rest and relaxation. #ENSER #LaborDay #Engineering #Innovation #ClosedForTheDay

"Completed my 5th semester with hands-on experience in milling and lathe machines, crafting various workpieces. Additionally, adept at fabrication, recently creating a base plate through meticulous filing techniques. Excited to apply these practical skills in real-world engineering scenarios.✨ #EngineeringSkills #Milling #Lathe #Fabrication #HandsOnExperience #pstc"

Great example from Cairnhill Structures showing their FARO Technologies #Quantum arm being used to verify and position brackets during fabrication out on the shop floor. FARO 3D Metrology Insights #engineering #inspection #fabrication
The continuation of world engineering week marks an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our own engineering teams collaborative approach. Engineering innovation is at the forefront of all we do at Cairnhill; investing in machinery and technology, sharing ideas and insight, as we constantly strive to deliver the best solution every time. A recent example of this is our use of CMM equipment (FAROArm) to ensure we survey and position the pipe clamps to adhere to the correct tolerances of 0.2mm, this was required to position datum pads which was achieved with ease. This ensures the pipes remain in the correct position on first fit. Part of an assembly for a bigger fabrication for one of our customers in the defence sector. Excellent work from our team as always! #engineeringweek #steelsolutions

Fabrication Friday: Working Smarter not Harder Efficiency in fabrication and production is key! I once learned from a navy seal the importance of using tools creatively to complete tasks effectively, even if they aren't the most ideal. From working with basic hand tools in my garage to tackling complex projects as a propmaker with tight deadlines, I learned the value of thinking outside the box to bring ideas to life. In the world of fabrication, designing the final product is just the beginning. Creating efficient jigs plays a crucial role in streamlining production processes. This requires a deep understanding of fabrication techniques, tolerances, and the longevity of each jig. With metal and woodshops becoming scarce in educational settings, engineering students often lack hands-on fabrication experience. It would be immensely beneficial for interns to shadow machinists or production teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange between engineering and production realms. Let's work towards bridging the gap for a more well-rounded understanding of fabrication and production processes! #Engineering #Production #Fabrication #ProductDevelopment #Welding #Metalwork #Innovation

Visit to Vantage Career Center to get feedback from the instructors and students. We received all positive reviews from the students and instructors. One benefit that caught their attention is the ability to reach a location not in line with the T-Slots. The smaller width tables, like in the machine shown here, don't allow you to keep the vise in the center of the table. This causes issues with having to rig up a stop with toe clamps, angle iron, etc. With the EMT Quick Stop you can easily reach from the closest T-Slot and get to your jaw location. Here's a video of the instructor installing the stop for the first time. Imagine the time you can save on every set up, every day, year after year. Engineers across various disciplines rely on strain gauges to assess strain in structures and machine parts under different loads. From structural engineers studying the integrity of bridges to aerospace engineers analysing the performance of aircraft components, understanding strain is crucial. TecQuipment's Strain Gauge Trainer (SM1009) provides hands-on experience for students to comprehend the principles behind strain gauges. It covers various configurations, including shear and torque strain gauges, the Wheatstone bridge, quarter bridge connection, half bridge connections, and full bridge setups. With this trainer, students explore: 🔍 Bending systems: measuring tensile and compressive strain 🔄 Torsion systems: understanding shear/torque strain gauges ➡️ Tension systems: analysing strains using Tee rosettes and proving Poisson’s ratio 🔬 Young’s modulus and Poisson’s ratio: investigating tensile strains in different materials and comparing properties The trainer features a strain display with dummy strain gauge resistors for different bridge connections, ensuring accurate readings. It's compatible with TecQuipment’s Versatile Data Acquisition System (VDAS®) for real-time data capture and analysis. Equip your students with practical knowledge and skills to tackle real-world engineering challenges. Visit our website to learn more about the Strain Gauge Trainer and its educational benefits: https://lnkd.in/eWm9Fnnz #StrainGauges #EngineeringEducation #HandsOnLearning #STEMeducation #TecQuipment #Strainanalysis
