Interestingly we saw in the recent Mercer global Talent Trends that the journey to becoming a skills-powered organization is paying dividends both for employees and employers. Starting with the employee perspective, energized employees are more likely to be working for skills-powered organization and feel the benefits of it. In 2023, Workday commissioned a survey of 2,600 global HR professionals and business leaders across 19 countries to better understand the drivers behind diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as the current state of global DEI. The results are not just promising, they are a beacon of light in the midst of media reports on "DEI Pushback" & "Institutional DEI fatigue" From our research Belonging and Diversity is seen as a talent and wellbeing imperative (43% cited attracting talent as the top driver and 41% cited improving wellbeing as the top driver for their focus) and there was a massive YoY uptick of 20% to 67% in the measurement of business impact. We are excited and encouraged by these rich insights and what it means for a more equitable world of work!

Our Employer Advisory Group (EAG) recently came together to discuss challenges they face as employers to address social mobility alongside and how we could work together to influence change at industry level.  Joining us were leading employers from across different industries such as Accenture, PwC, Co-op, Slaughter and May, Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, Department for Culture, Media and Sport and many more. They expressed the importance for employers to collect diversity data to understand their workforce, and the experiences of the employee through the employee lifecycle, recognising the difficulty employers face in collecting that data and considering how we can demystify that process.  Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eiFpTp5D

There was a recognition that many businesses had not yet considered socio-economic inclusion as part of their diversity and inclusion strategy, and that engagement with those Business Leaders is vital if we are going to significantly change or impact employer behaviours. #socialmobility #globalmobility

It was great to attend The Great Reconsideration event hosted by KPMG, Halifax People team and the opportunity to learn from like-minded HR professionals. It was fascinating to learn how HR leaders continue to forge the path without a playbook and learn how pathfinders innovate, set the examples and navigate the course. My take away? Our collective people priorities are aligned: 💡Fostering equity, diversity, belonging, reconciliation through calls to action, and accessibility in everything we do; 💡Focusing on employee well-being and creating psychologically safe workplaces; 💡Innovate to attract and hire, but to focus on retention as a new recruitment strategy; 💡Creating positive employee experience and engagement through every interaction and practice; 💡Being digital in thought, word, and deed, and to consider digital accessibility.
