✨ The #Muspell Consortium gathered in #Switzerland to plan ahead the development of the next generation of Thermal Energy Storage Systems (TESS), and pave the way for revolutionary advancements in sustainable energy solutions! During the visit, we seized the opportunity to unveil the #hyperloop infrastructure in #Lausanne to our guests. We dived deeper into the synergy between Muspell TESS and our pioneering hyperloop technology, and how this fusion promises to tackle key challenges in thermal management, revolutionizing energy efficiency in low-pressure environments. Despite achieving impressive efficiencies, Perovskite Solar Cells (PSCs) still grapple with significant concerns about their long-term performance, which is a crucial obstacle to their commercialization. In response to this challenge, Uma kousalya Dangudubiyyam will present her research titled "Interfacial passivation to enhance the performance and stability of carbon-based perovskite solar cells". Uma kousalya Dangudubiyyam, a Research Assistant at Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE ISE, specializes in interfacial engineering for Low-Temperature Carbon-Based Perovskite Solar Cells. In 2023, she completed her Master of Sciences degree at the University of Freiburg. During her two-year student research assistant role at Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE, Uma made significant contributions to the perovskite solar cell field, gaining expertise in module characterization and reliability. 🌟💡 ERC #SynergyGrant for our director Karl Mayrhofer and his colleagues from Denmark, Germany and Switzerland for the search for efficient and durable catalysts! 👏 The ERC Synergy Grant is the highest #award for researchers in the EU and is funded with 10 million euro over the next six years. 💧 Hydrogen is considered the energy carrier of the future, but to produce it, we need catalysts that can withstand extreme conditions. Previous electrocatalysts have fallen short, unable to maintain their efficiency over time. That's where this Danish-German-Swiss research consortium comes in. 🤝 Under the project "Directed Evolution of Metastable Electrocatalyst Interfaces for Energy Conversion" (DEMI), the four scientists are pooling their expertise to find new materials that are both powerful and durable. 🔎 DEMI will make important contributions to significantly increase the efficiency of electrolysis and fuel cells with new catalyst materials, thus reducing the costs of the technologies. The researchers' goal is to find materials that can perform for a long time under load. With their new data-driven and interconnected approach, this research consortium aims to unravel the mysteries of metastability in interfaces, leading to catalysts with high integral performance throughout their lifetime. 📢 Project PULSELiON has achieved its FIRST OPEN ACCESS PUBLICATION! The journal article “Critical Current Density Measurements of Argyrodite Li6PS5Cl Solid Electrolyte at Ambient Pressure” has been published in the @Journal of The Electrochemical Society on 20 October 2023. 🔋 The work investigates the impact of the often-overlooked Critical Current Density (CCD) parameters and aims at establishing more standard measurement procedures for solid electrolytes under ambient or almost ambient pressure. Furthermore, an alternative method for evaluation of CCD values is presented adopted from Tafel analysis. 🎊 The Critical Current Density of an electrolyte is an important parameter to evaluate its applicability for battery application. However, a lot of hidden parameters can influence CCD measurements and thus for the same material often different values are reported in literature. [Master of Science Thesis] Lifecycle Assessment of a Lithium-ion Battery Storage System for Frequency Regulation in a Real-World Application Full Text in the comments. Pixii AS can play a key role in supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy future by providing reliable energy storage and grid balancing services. *Samuel Jibril Sulemanu* in his Master of Science Thesis writes about a real case in Sweden where the Pixii #Powershaper BESS is analyzed in an environmental assessment for its owner Areim. The Master of Science Thesis at Uppsala University is supervised by Luka Smajila, Monika Topel; Subject Reader Jennifer Leijon; Examiner Albert Mihranyan. The thesis investigates the #environmental impact of using a lithium-ion battery system for #frequencyregulation in the #SwedishGrid. The Thesis uses a #LCA framework to compare the #CarbonFootprint of the #BESS with the current mix of technologies that provide frequency regulation. The Thesis finds that the battery system can reduce carbon emissions by displacing other energy storage systems with higher production and use phase impacts. The thesis also performs a sensitivity analysis to examine how different parameters such as bid volume and electricity mix affect the environmental benefits of the battery system.

🔥 INFERNO - Recycling Industrial Waste Through the Application of Thermophotovoltaic and Thermoelectric: A Novel Hybrid Technology for Electricity Generation - had its Kick-off Meeting in an online form on June 4th, 2024. 🎆 Partners gathered to set up the three-year action plan for the project, and its main and specific objectives.
