The Role of Simulations in Product Development 🔄🖥️🖱️ For intralogistics projects, we like to run a simulation to determine the throughput rates of equipment along with the utilisation of the robots and conveyors. This process ensures that we can validate a solution prior to presenting it to a client. Our simulation tools make use of real properties found in robots like KUKA, as you can see in the simulation. We can then simulate based on various factors and determine if we require more or less robots, or if we need different robotic speeds or different delivery rates from conveyors. Why is my robot joint offset important❓ Joint offset is the difference between the expected position of a robot joint and its actual position. Some amount of joint offset will occur in most industrial robots, including six-axis robots. Factors like tolerances in a robot’s manufacture or wear and tear will cause it. Over time, a robot’s movements will become more inaccurate as its joints drift from their expected positions. The robot will start to perform tasks further from where it needs to. To improve your six-axis robot accuracy, you can calibrate its joint positions with RCS T-90 and RCS Software Suite. In a dedicated test, identify the offset of your robot’s joints. With the results, you can set your robot's position to compensate for the offset. Reducing a robot's joint offset will help to improve the quality and efficiency of its work. It's been installed as part of a timing belt pulley manufacturing process. 👉 What I like about this one is that it's a perfect example of a cobot performing multiple steps in a CNC process.
