🌟 A Summer of Growth: Sharpening My Trading Strategy 🌟 This summer, I took a step back from my initial experience with a Prop Firm to fully focus on refining and enhancing my trading strategy. 💼✨ With three months of vacation ahead, I committed myself to daily backtesting, demo trading, and analyzing new indicators, all with the goal of optimizing my approach. I spent countless hours not only understanding the market but also better understanding myself as a trader. 🎯 I dove deep into what worked well in my live trading experience, but more importantly, I identified the weak points and crafted solutions for each. It's been a period of reflection, growth, and intense learning. Now, as my vacation comes to an end, I return to my academic journey with a stronger, more robust trading strategy. I’m excited to kick off the new academic year at Ichec Brussels Management School , entering the first phase of my Master’s in International Business Management. 🏫🚀 Additionally, I’m thrilled to share that SPARK-Trading , the trading community I founded six months ago, has grown to 15 members. 🌟 Together, we’ve been exchanging insights, strategies, and supporting each other’s trading journeys. I would like to thank EDHEC Business School and Emmanuel Jurczenko for organising a professional networking trip to London. My first time in London was full of positive emotions and exquisite insights into Financial Markets! Visiting National Gallery, Tower of London and discussing Sustainability during the first 2 days with Egor Zubkov set me in the right mood for the company presentations and networking sessions. “Ambassadors” painting was a highlight thanks to its deep representation of imperceptible chaos that underpins the visible order. The next 2 days were followed by quant researches of Ben Luyten and Ioan Mirciov, Ph.D. on scientific beta index formulation, Q&A session on networking and securing a job with Marie-Emilie Dumanois, and Marc FAUBEAU insights into trends in crypto, NFT, and tokenisation. Big shoutout to you for participating in the event and sharing knowledge! When I was already sure that the trip cannot be better Societe Generale, J.P. Morgan and S&P Global representatives changed my mind! Albert Loo gave a great speech on importance of risk management and learning. Coding and risk management are key skills for those who are willing to work in financial markets next 15 years:) I also enjoyed Nimisha Saxena and Yassine Hassani insights into quantitative investment strategies as well as Romain SINCLAIR explanation of 3 major liquidity crises that Société Générale overcame over the past 16 years. We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Bocconi Students Investment Club and Hephaestus!  Over the course of this semester, we will join forces for a research project on machine learning portfolio construction and optimization. In the first phase of the portfolio construction, we will be using Machine Learning techniques to predict the stock direction of the S&P 500 constituents. In the second part we will focus on portfolio optimization, comparing the performance of the classic Markovitz Mean-Variance Optimization with a Mean-Entropy Minimization approach. I'm excited to share that I've recently completed the Business Analysis and Valuation summer course at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), finishing with an A-! ✅ This intermediate level course was a fantastic mix of academic learning and exploring London, and it was an incredible experience to study with top-notch professors like Stefano Cascino, Jeroen Koenraadt and Xiaoke Ye (叶潇客), PhD, FHEA . The course was split into two main parts: 1. Fundamental Analysis: We focused on understanding competitive strategies, efficient market theory, and how to spot earnings management. We also learned how to analyze financial ratios to assess a company's past and current performance. 2. Forecasting and Valuation: We explored different valuation methods like DCF, DDM, Residual Income, as well as relative valuation models, and learned how to use them in various situations. We also covered important topics like IPOs, M&A, and Private Equity. I'm grateful for everything I learned and can't wait to put these new skills to use in my future career!

We had the pleasure of hosting Philippine ADAM an Equity Research Analyst (and one of our our alumni) who doesn’t just talk numbers—she lives them! From dissecting the nuances of valuation to answering students' (and yes, even many of my own!) burning questions, Philippine brought the world of valuation to life in a way that no textbook ever could. Here at EDHEC, we're not just about teaching theories and models; we're about equipping our students with the tools and insights they'll need to navigate the real world. And sometimes, that means hearing straight from those who are in the thick of it—crunching the numbers, making the calls, and living through the volatility.
