"McKinsey research from our ‘Women Matter’ series has shown that greater representation of women in senior corporate positions correlates to improved business performance. In essence, diversity leads to more dynamic discussions, a broader range of factors considered, and healthy challenges to conventional thinking. The benefits apply to governments, as well as private organisations." https://lnkd.in/g3nU9GRH. #genderequality #gender #womenleaders #societyandculture #humanandcivilrights #politicsandlaw #socialissues #organisations

As a proud partner of the Women Empowering Defence (WED) network and recent attendees of #WED24, we are deeply committed to advancing gender equality, diversity, and empowerment. Inspired by the meaningful discussions at the conference, we are focused on continuing these important conversations at Janes. Our very own Women at Janes affinity group recently hosted a powerful panel discussion on #Allyship and the role of men as allies featuring the inspiring voices of Samirah Wright, Utkal Tripathy, Samuel Emmerling, and Adam Versteeg. Here's why this matters to us: We are determined to make continuous strides forward in all aspects of our DE&I strategy including increasing the number of women we have, especially in more senior roles at Janes. This is the simply the right thing to do and benefits our business and all of our colleagues. While we have made progress, we still have much to do – discussions like this on allyship are one important way for us to continue this forward positive momentum. Key discussion points included: · The significant impact of microaggressions and biases · The crucial role of people leaders in setting the tone to drive change · Encouraging men to overcome reticence, step forward into the discussion and keep listening · The need to enhance diversity in talent pipelines and ensuring hiring managers feel more accountability Check out the slides below to read just a few of the many excellent quotes from the panelists and let's keep taking actionable steps toward a more inclusive future. March marks the beginning of Women's History Month, a time to celebrate the many incredible achievements and contributions of women throughout history. At Tyson & Mendes, we're proud to highlight our commitment to supporting and empowering women in the legal profession and beyond through our Women's Initiative. Our Women's Initiative is dedicated to promoting growth, fostering business development, and providing networking opportunities for both our attorneys and clients. Through engaging events, meaningful programs, and valuable resources, we strive to advance women in the insurance and legal industries while cultivating lasting relationships and community. Almost 50 percent of our 200-plus attorneys and approximately 80 percent of our support is female, so our immense success is a direct reflection on the power of their contributions. We surpass the national average for women in the legal profession, affirming our commitment to equality and diversity of voices. At Tyson & Mendes, we believe we are better and stronger because of the many women in our ranks, including in firm leadership. As we commemorate Women's History Month, we reaffirm our dedication to championing gender equality, mentorship, and professional advancement for women everywhere. We invite you to join us in celebrating the remarkable women who shape our firm and inspire positive change in our communities. Here’s to powerful women: may we know them, may we be them, may we hire them, may we promote them past the broken rung, and may we amplify their voices. #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInLaw #Empowerment #FemaleAttorneys #TysonMendes #WomensMonth #CelebratingWomen
