We're thrilled at the success of the recent Staff Paint & Mingle event. 🥳 The staff engagement team came together for an evening of creativity, laughter, and connection. It was incredible to see everyone unleash their inner artist and bond over the joy of painting. 🖌️🎨 Why are staff engagement events like this so important? Here are just a few reasons: *Boosts Morale: Events like Paint and Mingle provide a refreshing break from the daily routine, lifting spirits and energizing our team. *Fosters Teamwork: Shared experiences outside the usual work environment help build stronger relationships and improve collaboration. *Encourages Creativity: Creative activities stimulate innovative thinking, which can translate into fresh ideas and perspectives in our work. *Reduces Stress: Taking time to unwind and have fun is essential for mental well-being, leading to a happier and more productive workforce. *Builds Company Culture: These events are a testament to our commitment to a positive and inclusive workplace culture where everyone feels valued and connected. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made this event memorable. Let's carry this creative energy forward and continue to support one another in all that we do! 123-Best-in-Class #TeamBuilding #StaffEngagement #CompanyCulture #DPW

🧰 I really enjoyed attending Jobs for the Future (JFF)'s Horizons Summit last week in D.C. and learn from so many organizations, speakers, and peers on their efforts to advance #inclusive workforces and create equitable #economicopportunity as we think about the #futureofwork. One of the biggest highlights was certainly the opportunity connect with so many of the amazing leaders on our Talent Rewire team—Kimberly Shin (mysteriously missing at the time of this picture 🤔 ), Ulises Trujillo Rivera, and George Zaninovich, MURP—with whom our paths rarely cross in person despite working at the same organization. Their team's research and learning communities complement the #workforcedevelopment work that Chirlie Felix and Fay Hanleybrown lead from FSG's consulting unit. Other highlights from #JFFHorizons include: ⭐ Learning about new research from Prof. Raj Chetty and The Brookings Institution's Camille M. Busette on intergenerational mobility, economic connectedness, and social disconnection (I was shocked to learn Charlotte, NC is the least economically mobile city in the U.S. but hopeful to learn that Montogomery County, MD is both very diverse and economically mobile!) ⭐ Hearing from Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo about rethinking labor and the opportunity to elevate the role of #communitycolleges in rethinking career pathways and reskilling ⭐ Author Ta-Nehisi Coates's candor and vulnerable reflections on #privilege that we all have to some degree, be it gender, ability, class, sexual orientation or another dimension, and the small changes we can make to increase our awareness and ability to entertain behavior shift on a larger scale I'm carrying these and many other insights forward into our work on #economicmobility and #workforcedevelopment. #HorizonsOnLinkedIn
Love seeing this photo of the FSG team from the #JFFHorizons Summit this week! 📷 The team loved attending many discussions about centering economic mobility in the future of work and connecting with so many like-minded changemakers. Thank you to Jobs for the Future (JFF) for hosting!

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), a leading provider of quality care, has been developing standards for nearly six decades through research and expert consensus, and these standards are constantly updated via an International Advisory Council (IAC) to ensure continuous improvement in health and human services. CARF International ensures that providers adhere to internationally accepted and person-focused standards over three-year accreditation periods, providing improved communication, evidence to governments of commitment to quality, efficient management techniques, guidance for responsible management, and support through consultation, publications, training opportunities, and newsletters. We are pleased to announce that Morningside has been awarded its 10th consecutive Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International for its Individual Employment, Business Development, Employment Planning, and Transition Services. This is the highest level of accreditation available, demonstrating our organization's commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the people we serve. We are very pleased with the results and look forward to maintaining our commitment to these high standards. With just over a month to go before its #bcorpmonth the link below offers some interesting facts from the Raconteur team. “#Bristol houses the most #bcorps of any UK city outside of #London. #Manchester is next with 34, then #Brighton with 21 and #Bath with 19. #Leeds (14) and #Liverpool (11) are two more B Corp hubs in the north. In terms of size, UK B Corps are overwhelmingly small- to medium-sized businesses. Some 95% of UK B Corps have fewer than 250 employees and less than 1% have more than 1,000 employees. The under-representation of larger companies and enterprises is a product of the logistics of B Lab’s assessment process. B Lab UK warns that the #certification process can take much longer for large, complex organisations, which will naturally have less centralised visibility of each of the organisation’s many processes and operations, which must be assessed and verified to get accredited. https://lnkd.in/eDMBe2c9

As a new membership year gets underway, we want to give our 2024-2025 Executive Committee a chance to tell you, in their own words, why they volunteer and what makes AWCI special to them. Say hello to AWCI Secretary Adam Navratil. How long has your company been a member of AWCI? My grandfather, the founder of J&B Acoustical, Inc., joined AWCI in 1963. How long have you been involved in the organization? I have been attending Conventions since I was a child with my parents in the early 80's. Interest peaked during my college years and I naturally transitioned to attending Conventions annually from 2000 forward. I initially got involved with the Education Committee soon thereafter and served as chair for 8 years. I served on the board of directors from 2015 to 2021. Why are you involved? And why do you volunteer? I believe that participating on a national level with such a great orginization can only make you and your company better at what you do. The act of giving time to something that I'm passionate about is a way for me to give back while also honing my skillset. What is the value of membership for you, the company, your employees? The value of membership for me comes from the lifelong friendships/relationships that are forged. These relationships are valuable resourses in a non-competition environment. Thought processes, experiences, and insight are shared for the betterment of all. Our employees will get to see new products and technologies from so many vendors and manufacturers in one location while being surrounded by like-minded construction professionals. The educational programs help foster employee thought process and growth when they return to work after an AWCI event. L&D WEEK PRO TIP 💡 Great advice from NZATD Award winner Michelle Shields! "Talk to the people you're going to be designing and delivering for. So often we take our cue from a manager or representative of the company and find that what they say they want is not what is really needed most." #nzatd #ldweek24 #celebrate #protip #consultation #needsanalysis
