Countdown to Expo 2025 Osaka: 10 months to go! 🌐 The German Pavilion is not just a structure; it's a vision of circular architecture, utilizing materials that are recyclable and reusable while prioritizing function over form. At its core, @expo2025germany embodies the harmony between the environment and humanity, merging the circular cosmos, technosphere, and biosphere seamlessly. Led by the Circulars, the circular exhibition features three immersive rooms, for which we contributed the media content as a partner of the German Pavilion Consortium: “Circular Living”: Design the future city playfully with the AI Dream Machine, interacting with visitors. “Circular Economy”: Step into a universe of circularity, experiencing a 360-degree narrative of sustainable practices. Lastly, “Circular Me” empowers visitors with the belief that they too can make a difference. 🌍 Building a Sustainable Future: The Foundations of the Luxembourg Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka 🏗️ We are thrilled to share the innovative foundation techniques of the Luxembourg Pavilion, designed with a strong commitment to circular economy principles. Here’s how we’re setting new standards in sustainable construction: 🔹 Lightweight Construction: Utilizing rigid steel frames linked with removable concrete blocks, we’ve minimized environmental impact while maximizing efficiency. This floating foundation system is both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. 🔹 Designed for Disassembly & Reusability: Every component of our foundation is designed for easy disassembly and reuse, ensuring that the materials maintain their integrity for future construction projects. This approach significantly reduces waste and promotes resource conservation. 🔹 Light excavation : By avoiding traditional excavation methods, we’ve strongly limited the need for cement and water, further reducing our environmental footprint. The Luxembourg Pavilion is more than just a building; it’s a manifesto of what’s possible when innovative design meets sustainable practices. Join us in our journey towards a greener, more resilient future. ♻️ While incorporating circular economy principles in the design process are essential for sustainability, changing people’s mindset to actually choose sustainable alternatives is often overlooked. That’s why, when World Design Embassies and Gemeente Eindhoven asked me to design a concept for sustainable bus hubs, I knew the focus had to go beyond sustainable materials and lifecycle. The real challenge was: “𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿?” The solution I found lies in enhancing the bus experience and removing its current stigma. The 𝗘𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗯𝘀 do this by: • 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: 🧑🤝🧑 Tailoring spaces to different needs, offering both private and social areas for a more personalized, comfortable experience. • 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: ⏱️ Providing real-time information and seamless tech in a stress-reducing environment, giving passengers full control over their journey. • 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆: 🎨 Eye catching public transport by integrating Eindhoven’s innovative spirit and culture, making the hubs spaces people want to use. These hubs transform public transport into an attractive, convenient, and culturally relevant choice, making waiting time turn into time well spent. 🚶♀️🚍✨ Want to learn more? 🏡 Architecture doesn't just shape our physical spaces, it shapes our daily experiences. And what's a daily experience without a cup of coffee? ☕ Coffee adds that special touch of ritual to our routines, making it an integral part of our lives. But can coffee and architecture team up to create a healthier and more sustainable environment? 🏡 ➕ ☕🟰❓ 🤝 At Coffeefrom, we believe they can. That's why we're thrilled to follow in the footsteps of MaterialDriven with Adele Orcajada DiGiacomo and embark on a journey to Spain to participate in the ARCHITECT@WORK event. 💬 One of the event's highlights will be the discussion on "Healthy Materials for Human Wellbeing." This initiative aims to raise awareness among architects, designers, and contractors about the materials they use and their impact on our health and the environment. By providing them with new green options, we're paving the way for a healthier future. 🗓May 8th and 9th 📍 IFEMA - Feria de Madrid, Pavilion 4, Avenida Partenón, 5, 28042 Madrid. The design of the Singapore Pavilion, by DP Architects group in collaboration with Kingsmen Exhibits (Kingsmen Creatives Ltd), for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is unveiled today. CEO of DP Architects and design lead for the project, Ar. Seah Chee Huang was present at the preview with managing director of Kingsmen Exhibits, Mr Anthony Chong to share the first insights of the Pavilion. Representatives from Singapore Tourism Board as well as Ambassador Ong Eng Chuan, Commissioner General of the Singapore Pavilion were also present. Inspired by the ‘Little Red Dot’, DP envisioned the Pavilion as a physical manifestation of this term of endearment, a representation of qualities and characteristics that are #uniquelySingapore. Conceived in alignment with the theme of the expo – ‘Designing Future Society for our Lives’, the Pavilion embodies more than the ‘Little Red Dot’ to stand as a beacon – A Dream Sphere – of a wider collective aspiration for a more positive and more #sustainable future. This #callforglobalaction is not only articulated through its immersive experience which is curated to invite visitors to explore the infinite possibilities of dreams of a #betterthansustainable and progressive future. It is also captured in the design and construct of the pavilion through the 4Rs of sustainability – #Renew, #Reduce, #Reuse and #Recycle for a more #circular and #lowcarbon outcome.
