#regionalnetworking is immensely important when it comes to sustainability. Only through exchange and the creation of synergies and joint projects can the right steps be taken towards the energy transition. At the Neuwied/Germany Economic Forum's energy summit on February 29, local projects were presented by the Mayor of Neuwied, Jan Einig, among others and their strengths and potential explored 🗣️. We see this as a great initiative that promotes cooperation and development among local companies. Tim Kröber, Head of the L&R Neuwied site and the PWA (Production, Wound Care & Adhesives) division, represented L&R at the energy summit and discussed the topic with other representatives of local industry. We are making our contribution to greater (ecological) sustainability in the region with a wide variety of projects, such as the installation of photovoltaic systems, energy-efficient building optimization, EnergyScouts, tree planting campaigns and much more. #lrMed #LRsustainability #sustainability #networking

🌊 Last Thursday, Blue21 had the privilege of hosting Berend Jan Kleute, an expert in Offshore renewable technologies, who enlightened us with an engaging lecture on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC). 🔆 OTEC, harnessing the temperature gradient between warm ocean surfaces and colder depths, emerges as a beacon of sustainable power generation. Its efficiency lies in its consistent power output, a distinguishing feature compared to other renewable sources like wind and solar energy. Berend Jan shed light on its potential to transform urban development and drive economic growth, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. 🏙 OTEC holds particular promise for floating urbanism. Imagine floating cities going autonomous from the shore, powered by OTEC and benefiting from the reuse of deep ocean water. Last month (June 17-19), our partner Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) participated in the 5th Symposium on Circular Economy and Sustainability in 🇬🇷Chania. This conference aims to bridge the gap between engineering, management and economic knowledge, supporting the advancement of #circular and #sustainability principles. Spyros Karytsas delivered a presentation on CRES’ work within the SNUG project, titled: “𝘌𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘯𝘥-𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘴' 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴”.
