Porsche has issued a safety recall for over 31,000 Taycan EVs in the US due to potential brake malfunctions. The issue involves cracks in the front brake hoses, leading to brake fluid leaks and reduced front brake functionality, though rear brakes remain unaffected. The recall covers models from 2020 to 2025, produced between October 2019 and June 2024. Porsche will replace the faulty brake hoses free of charge and notify affected owners by August 6, 2024. This proactive step underscores Porsche's commitment to safety and reliability in its electric vehicle lineup. https://lnkd.in/gCJcEPby #Porsche #Taycan #EV #ElectricVehicles #BrakeRecall #VehicleSafety #Automotive #NHTSA #SafetyFirst #BrakeFluid #RecallNotice #USRecall #CarSafety #AutomotiveNews #PorscheTaycan #EVSafety #TechInnovation #SustainableTransport #EVTech #ElectricSedans

After 60 years of ruling the track and the road, the legendary Porsche 911 is set to enter a new era: the era of electrification. Starting this summer, Porsche will offer a hybrid model of the 911, combining the car’s iconic performance with the innovative technology of an electric motor. A Unique And Exclusive Hybrid The new hybrid system in the 911 is unlike any other on the market. Energy is stored in a lightweight lithium-ion battery, specially developed for rapid charging and discharging. The system benefits from regenerative braking technology, eliminating the need for external charging. Electrifying Performance Still under wraps, the performance of the new hybrid 911 promises to be electrifying. Porsche is expected to offer different power levels, with models like the Turbo-E Hybrid and Turbo S E-Hybrid expanding the range. Hybrid technology won’t be limited to the 911. Why does the #Porsche 911 have a rear-engine layout? The signature rear-engine layout of the Porsche 911, where the engine – unlike most other road cars – is positioned just behind the rear axle, is a defining characteristic that truly sets it apart from others. This unique arrangement contributes to the distinctive driving dynamics of the 911, providing a high level of traction at the rear wheels when accelerating. What has allowed this layout to endure over the past 60 years and more since the 911 was launched is how Porsche engineers have masterfully balanced the car’s weight distribution to aid its supreme handling characteristics. Continuous improvements by the Porsche engineering teams over the decades have given the 911 a unique blend of agility, stability and performance. It also led to the creation of a ‘frunk’ in the 911 – or front trunk – a compact front storage area under the bonnet, as opposed to the traditional rear location found in most other internal combustion engine cars. "The electric 1,092-horsepower Taycan Turbo GT, coming to market this summer, has already set two race track speed records for an electric car. It even beat one set by a Tesla Model S by a gigantic 18 seconds." Views change with generations, and what was once "normal" will not necessarily be the case in the future. Younger generations have heard of CDs, but probably don't own one. They have never heard of a VHS tape, and would consider it ridiculous that people used to drive to stores to rent a tape and return it in 3 days (or face enormous late fees!). #Electricvehicles will be seen this way in the future. They will become the new normal: faster, more efficient, with lower maintenance cost. Tesla must be recognized and commended for having the sheer will and product vision to catalyze one of the world's largest industries in this direction. The first #HEVs and EVs were almost embarrassing in their designs. It was as if the lesser designers at Toyota Motor Corporation (and others) were assigned to the #EV division as punishment. That has changed now with the top EVs beating many of the existing supercars in both design and performance. The latest example of this trend was unveiled today: Porsche AG Taycan Turbo GT Model type: 4-door Time, 0-60mph: 2.1 seconds; Top speed: 190 mph (317 kph), based on model #electromobility #climatechange

The Volkswagen ID.7 has become the first ever vehicle to achieve an overall rating of ‘very good’ in the independent test performed by ADAC, Europe’s largest automobile club! 👏 Last month, the ID.3 clinched the Best Buy-award from Test-Aankoop/Test Achat (see: https://lnkd.in/eWZaP8b8). Now the ID.7 has received a historic top score in ADAC's vehicle test, becoming the very first vehicle to be rated as 'very good'. Here's a short resume of their findings: ▶ Every year, 100 vehicles are put through their paces bij the ADAC, testing them according to more than 350 criteria in seven main categories. The ID.7 received outstanding scores in the categories of engine/drive (1.0), safety (1.1), environment/ecological test (1.2) and comfort (1.5). ▶ The electric saloon also impressed in the other main categories that contributed to the overall rating. For instance, the areas of driving characteristics (2.1), body/luggage compartment (2.3) and interior (2.4) were rated as ‘good’. Since the two categories of environment/ecological test and safety have the highest weighting, the overall score for the ID.7 was 1.5, resulting in its historical overall rating of ‘very good’. 💬 I've personally driven the ID.7 over a longer period and came away very impressed by its overall comfort, silence and zen-factor. If you haven't tried our electric flagship yet, please do so at your nearest Volkswagen-dealer and get ready to be amazed!
