"Redefining Celebrations: A Lesson in Compassion and Simplicity" 🌟 Today, I stumbled upon a story that touched my heart ❤️ in a profound way. A couple, on the cusp of starting their life journey together 👫, chose an unconventional path 🛤️. Instead of capturing their love through a prewedding photo shoot 📸, they turned their celebration 🎉 into an act of kindness 🕊️. They visited an ashram 🏡, offering their time ⏳ and resources 💰 to donate food 🥖🍏 to those in need. This decision is a beautiful testament to the power of love 💑 - not just between two individuals but extending compassion to others. In a world often caught up in the glamour 💄 and extravagance of celebrations 🎊, this couple's choice stands as a reminder of what truly matters. It's about the lives we touch 👐, the love we spread 💖, and the simplicity with which we choose to live our lives 🌱. Their gesture goes beyond just an act of charity; it's a statement about their values 🌟 and the foundation they are building for their future together. It symbolizes that at the heart of their union lies a deep sense of responsibility 🤝, kindness 🌼, and a desire to make a positive impact in the world 🌍. As I reflect on this, I'm inspired to think about how we can all incorporate more meaning and purpose into our lives. Whether it’s through small acts of kindness 👋, changing our consumption habits ♻️, or simply being more present and compassionate in our daily interactions 🤗, there's so much we can do to make a difference. This story isn't just about a couple’s unique choice for their pre-wedding celebration; it's a narrative of hope 🌈 and change 🔄, inspiring each of us to rethink how we celebrate our most important moments. In their love, they found the capacity to bring joy to others 😊, reminding us that at the core of every celebration is the opportunity to spread love and kindness 💓. #LoveAndKindness #RedefiningCelebrations #HeartwarmingStories #ActsOfKindness #SimplicityInLife #ChangeInSociety #ChangeMakers #ThoughtfulLiving #GivingBack #CommunityService #InspiringLove

The wasteful extravaganza that goes into Indian wedding celebrations must end. The never-ending series of functions and expenses on both sides defies logic. While often left unsaid, it is true that the bride's side still bears a significant part of the expense. Here are some solutions I propose: ▶ Let both sides create and agree upon a wedding events sequence. They plan and budget accordingly. This should include 10% donated to a # ngo of their liking. ▶ All expenses are agreed to be borne directly by both the groom's and bride's families. ▶ All wedding rituals are conducted during the daytime, attended only by close family members and friends. ▶ A joint evening reception is held by both sides, with guests from both sides attending it. Let us focus on creating memories and cherishing moments that truly matter rather than getting lost in the chaos of extravagant celebrations. #weddingplanning #indianweddings #financialplanning #weddingideas #donateforchange #cherishedmemories #cherishedmoments

I like to look at things from a different lens’s are most know. For me technology brings people together, I record, my best friends record every moment of our interactions or when they see something cool because I suffered trauma/stress to my brain causing short term memory loss and my brain doesn’t connect feeling to memory. That’s why we take pictures and videos. People aren’t always able to be present for moments like the new years, their in hospital or going through something dark and that person experiencing the video/photo moments thinks of them in that moment. That’s why we take pictures and videos. Someone has social anxiety or has disabilities that prevents them from seeing it for themselves. That’s why we take videos. It’s not sad that we are so consumed with our phones, it’s sad that we get bashed and ashamed, like sending a message with a fat bird was more efficient, better and useful. We miss moments because we‘re too busy judging other people on how they chose to be in the moment and live their life, it’s not technologies fault.

We (Humans) used to celebrate the New Year with hugs, kisses, sing songs, dancing and expressions of joy and celebration; now it seems we just video fireworks for clicks on Social like here in Paris (+-1 million people) on the Champs Elysees 🤷 So much for being present and living the moment; (fair play to the couple mid/bottom right for sharing an "old school" embrace and kiss 😊) I love technology and am a committed digital optimist; however, we may have to redefine what it is to be "Human."

I'm not the biggest fan of radical self-restraint. But long ago, I promised myself I would never again take videos or photos of fireworks unless my job required it. Unless you're managing a fireworks supplier or you have a report to write. The best thing you can do is shut off your phone for a second, shove it in your pocket, hug the person next to you tightly, and enjoy the damn show. Nowadays, pretty much all severe fireworks are artistic endeavors. It's not just random lights in the sky. It is a serious director's work, with specially written music and marvelous accompaniment with lights, lasers, drones, and other special effects. Try, at least once in your life, to immerse yourself in this fairy tale, to understand the story, to feel what emotions were trying to convey a team of specialists who literally risk their lives creating pictures out of gunpowder. And let's be honest, you'll never watch these videos again, they'll just drown in the dust of the library of your phone, taking up space there. Leave filming to the experts and enjoy the damn show.

Technology was created to enhance our life and enjoy it. Why do people care so much about capturing a video of the Arc de Triomphe lighting up in a million colors and posting it on social media? Why do they prefer this over putting their phones away and cheer, hug, kiss and laugh with their friends/family? Imagine the following conversation: - Gustav: "so where did you spend NYE?" - Gregoire: "at Champs Elysées, it was awesome man, so many people, lights, colors, fireworks. Here... look at this video I capture" (... shows video) -Gustav: "that's fantastic. Who did you get to kiss or at least hug?" ** awkward silence ** -Gregoire: "... but look at the lights, breathtaking!!!" ** awkward silence ** It's genuinely sad to see this plethora of people putting social media front and center in their lives, rather than living the moment and sharing it with their loved ones. (PS: I made up the names, no reference to an actual person is being made...)

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, it's all too easy to overlook the importance of our role as guests on this planet. Earth Day serves as a powerful reminder of our responsibility to tread lightly upon the Earth, to honor and respect the intricate web of life that surrounds us. Yet, in our relentless pursuit of progress and convenience, we often forget to consider the consequences of our actions on the delicate balance of nature. As we celebrate Earth Day, let us pause to reflect on how we can embody the principles of stewardship and reverence for our planet. It's time to reawaken our awareness of the interconnectedness of all living beings and to adopt a mindset of harmony and sustainability. By embracing a more mindful and conscientious way of living, we can strive to be better guests on this magnificent planet, ensuring that future generations inherit a world that is thriving, vibrant, and full of wonder.
