Just recently, we managed to tackle two very critical and common challenges of our industry, in particular with regards to #wellcontrol situation in #oilandgas projects. One on #US land, the other in the #northsea. [1] In the first well, the operator contacted us to assess the risks of gas influx during and after cement displacement, plan mitigative actions, and discuss how to leverage all the advantages of having our #MetalExpandablePacker (MEP) as part of the casing design to deliver immediate annulus isolation, enhanced cement bond quality and reliable #wellintegrity. During execution, right after cement displaced and plug bumped, our #WLP - @Welltec Light Packer - setting procedure initiated and a good feeling of #missionacomplished "landed" when the gas venting system was silenced. 👊 [2] The second case, the scenario was a #multilateral well with likelihood of facing #totallosses in some of its legs. Done deal! We provided with an #OpenHole #MEP #Plug to be deployed with a drop-off system as main #contingency plan. A solid planning always benefits #safety, consistency and increased operational predictability. Happened that in sidetracks #5, #6, and #7 the #Welltec Annulus Barrier (#WAB) Plugs were flawlessly deployed and, thus, immediately controlling the fluid losses, allowing the operation to continue as planned. We are proud to be part of such challenging and relevant projects, supporting with #innovative #welldesign solutions, mitigating risks, minimizing #CAPEX, #OPEX, and #ABEX, and contributing to reduce #carbonfootprint globally.
