Imagine a justice system that prioritizes repairing harm and rebuilding lives over punishment. Restorative justice is the future we need – one that focuses on healing, accountability that repairs, and community restoration. This approach provides a platform for those affected by harm to have their voices heard and their needs addressed. It also allows those who have caused harm to understand the impact of their actions and take meaningful steps toward making amends. Ultimately, restorative justice strengthens our communities by fostering understanding, empathy, and mutual respect. #RestorativeJustice

#ParentingTipNumber6 Take the time to use your time and talent to serve others in your neighborhood and community. Setting the example for our children, by using our time, our talent and our abilities to serve others give them a picture of what it means to be part of a neighborhood and a community. When we discuss the service that we’re giving and why we’re giving it we give children a clear picture of what it means to be a good neighbor and a good service oriented person. Be sure to take your kids with you from time to time. Talk about what you’re doing and ask them about things that may be important for them and serving neighbors and other community members.

While numerous strategies have been proposed and implemented to address this issue, one often overlooked solution lies in proactive community engagement—specifically, through enhanced funding for parks and recreational programs that can help mitigate the factors leading to homelessness, particularly among youth.
