🏠🤝 **Extend a Hand to the Homeless: Making a Difference, One Act of Kindness at a Time** 🌟💖 🌈♥️🌟 In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook those who have fallen on hard times – the homeless individuals who roam the streets with nowhere to call home. But amidst the chaos, there lies an opportunity – a chance to extend a hand of compassion and make a meaningful difference in someone's life. 🌈♥️🌟 Helping the homeless isn't just about providing material support; it's about restoring dignity, hope, and a sense of belonging. Whether it's offering a warm meal, a kind word, or a listening ear, every act of kindness has the power to uplift spirits and inspire positive change. 🌈♥️🌟 So let's make it a point to always lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether through volunteering at shelters, donating clothing and supplies, or simply showing compassion and empathy towards our homeless neighbors, we can all play a part in making our communities more inclusive and caring. 🌈♥️🌟 Together, let's create a world where no one is left behind, where every person – regardless of their circumstances – is valued, respected, and supported. Let's be the change we wish to see in the world, one act of kindness at a time. 🌟🤝 #HelpTheHomeless #KindnessMatters #MakeADifference #CommunitySupport #TogetherWeCan

Today is your last chance to GiveBIG! Babies of Homelessness offers three ways for clients to easily and quickly access basic needs services–direct service, partner distribution, and pick-up service–and we provide an ongoing 30-day supply of diapers for each child for healthier outcomes. Our delivery model was created with client input as a way to serve hardest-to-reach and "invisible" families disconnected from the case management system, human services agencies in historically disadvantaged communities who have been left to the wayside for diaper support, and as a way to eliminate accessibility barriers that were prevalent (e.g., lack of transportation, long waitlists, inadequate quantity of diapers received and embarrassing intake processes). As families in King County and Snohomish continue to need diapers, we will be here. Help us be here for them by making a donation during this final day of GiveBIG 2024: https://lnkd.in/gi8VNWzc.

National Homeless Persons’ Remembrance Day is a day to remember the lives of those who have died while experiencing homelessness and might otherwise be forgotten. Studies show the death toll of our US homeless population has increased significantly over the past 5-10 years. Our Servant’s House emergency shelter can house 70 individuals. Unfortunately, at a given time, there are hundreds of thousands of homeless individuals, 40% of which are families, in our country. These folks are therefore at a higher risk of death through a combination of factors including different forms of abuse, food insecurity, lack of shelter, and poor healthcare. Today, let’s honor those who are facing the hardship of homelessness and those who have passed from its effects. May we take the time to be a part of the solution by working at our local level to make an impact. Should you wish to be part of a Memorial event and show your solidarity, there are in-person and virtual vigils held nationwide. For the local community, BetterLife is hosting a Memorial on December 21st between the hours of 11am-2pm at 101 14th Avenue, Newark. If you are interested in hosting your own event, check out this helpful manual: https://lnkd.in/eBfPtDp4 [Source: https://lnkd.in/g94F3ST9] #HomelessPersons'RemembranceDay #endhomelessness #communityservice #essexcounty #nonprofit #homelessshelter

#Homelessness is a big topic of conversation in the greater Seattle area—and one that can be loaded with opinion and emotion. If you—like us here at Campion—believe that we need honest and empathetic conversation about #housing and homelessness, then we encourage you “donate your small talk” this holiday season. Donate Your Small Talk offers a way to educate and inspire empathy with friends/family/coworkers who are frustrated and sharing their frustration with you. This new campaign from We Are In will help you talk about homelessness in a clear, compassionate, and sensible way. For example: Your Uncle: All those homeless people downtown are why Seattle’s crime rates are so bad. It’s not safe there anymore. You: I hear your about safety. It’s a big concern for me, too. People who are homeless, though, are more likely to be the targets of crime, rather than the perpetrators. Crime is a real problem, but people experiencing homelessness is a separate issue. Homelessness is a serious challenge. We need to talk about it. Please repost to donate *your* small talk and tag three friends to help spread the word! Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gR6jdCBR

Events like the Kentucky Derby contribute to an increase in the number of homeless encampment clearings in the Louisville region. This escalation adds to the vulnerability, unpredictability, and psychological distress experienced by displaced individuals without homes. While many clearings necessitate a 21-Day Warning, they can be expedited if deemed an "emergency", requiring only a 24-hour notice. These sudden displacements result in the loss of personal belongings, including important documents, and make it challenging for service providers to locate and assist clients during this period of heightened instability.
