Can you tell your oat from your almond? Your coconut from your cashew? What happens if you mix oat milk with apple juice? And who’s the real MVP (Most-Valued Plant Milk)? 🥛 🌱 These were some of the burning questions on the table when the Hubbub team got together for a plant milk taste test. Ever the knowledge-seekers, we’ve extracted our top five takeaways for your LinkedIn feed. You’re welcome. 1️⃣ Glasgow-based chocolatiers Bare Bones Chocolate make the best hot chocolate and we won’t hear otherwise. Pairs deliciously with Oat milk (though hazelnut might be a hot-choc challenger) 2️⃣ Want to zsush up your brew? Take a tip from Yorkshireman Sam. He recommends a bold blend of Earl Grey and breakfast tea, brightened with a splash of soy milk. 3️⃣ Speaking of soy, things all got a bit heated. The soy boys raved about it in tea, while the soy-sceptics found it a bit... flat. Has soy milk got you stirred up? Weigh in! 4️⃣ If you mix oat, apple juice and bit of cinnamon, you’ll end up with “strudel in a cup” (as affirmed by Claudia, who is – importantly – German). 5️⃣ Soy remains the undisputed king of frothability (see Tash with a tache, pictured), but oat comes in a close second (“froths like crazy”, according to one effervescent milk-maker). The most important lesson? It’s all a question of taste. Different milks for different ilks, as the saying goes. 🤷 One thing we can all agree on is the environmental benefit of plant-based milks. Compared to dairy, oat, almond, and soy milks generate at least 68% less greenhouse gases. 🌍 And while switching your milk might seem like a small step, it contributes to a larger cultural shift, one that starts with your cuppa and paves the way for a more sustainable (still delicious) diet, that's less reliant on meat and dairy. 🐄 📉 To #FindYourOoohWithoutTheMoo and find more plant milk combos from flavour expert Niki Segnit, head to the Hubbub website ➡

As someone who’s extremely gluten-sensitive, I’ve had no issues with maltodextrin, and I explain why in detail.
