On the other hand, Wafer Fabrication is the initial and intricate process of creating silicon wafers for integrated circuits. Here's a breakdown of the key disparities: - Process: Wafer fabrication involves creating silicon wafers through processes like lithography and etching, while OSAT transforms these wafers into finished products. - Focus: Fabrication focuses on intricate patterns on the wafer, while OSAT ensures functional and reliable chips. - Equipment: Fabrication requires specialized tools like clean rooms and photolithography machines, whereas OSAT is less capital-intensive.
