In the #financialliteracy class. Teachers can address building human and social capital capacity. Investing in personal growth and development- investing in yourself- may be one of the best investments.
Landing a good job requires more than the right knowledge, skills, and credentials. Sometimes WHO you know, and your ability to build and leverage a network, matters just as much as what you know. Here’s the problem: we’re not teaching this critical skill in our schools. If we’re serious about equipping all young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with the education and skills they need to achieve economic mobility, we can’t overlook the importance of #SocialCapital.
