Why did I study engineering? Was it because I like to sleep in late? No. Or because I love dressing smart casual and trendy? No. Was it for the calm, routine-driven career where every day is the same? Definitely not. The real reason I chose engineering is my passion for solving problems. I thrive on engaging with engineering standards and staying updated with new norms. Thinking outside the box is my mantra. While others see problems, women engineers see opportunities to drive change and improve processes. Happy International Women in Engineering Day! Today, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in engineering. Be the voice you want to hear, be the change you want to see, and be the human you want to be with. Sure! Happy International Women in Engineering Day! Did you know there's positive growth in women pursuing engineering degrees? In the US, the number of women getting engineering bachelor's degrees has increased, though the percentage increase is modest. The Society of Women Engineers reports that from 2019-2020 to 2021-2022, women received 35.2% of bachelor's degrees in engineering [SWE]. #WomenInEngineeringDay #EPSGroup #InternationalWomeninEngineeringDay #ProjectEngineer

How do we get more females into Engineering? Is it about getting more females interested in STEM? Is it about removing unconscious biases of the people around them? Is it about fixing systemic inequities? Or is it about creating more visible female role models? When I did my bachelor's in Information Technology many years ago - we were 4 female students in a class of 32. Later, while pursuing my Masters in Human Resources the ratio was reverse! International Women in Engineering Day is celebrated on June 23 every year. And it's time we start searching for answers and solutions. Check-out this article ... #DNV #engineering #DEI

As a female engineer, I'm honored to celebrate International Women's Day and reflect on the progress we've made in the engineering field. Although we still have a long way to go to achieve true equality, I'm proud of the strides we've made and inspired by the women who have blazed the trail before me. Gone are the days when women education ends in the kitchen, now the G in ENGINEERING is for girls. To any aspiring female engineers out there, I encourage you to follow your passion, work hard, and never give up on your dreams. No matter what challenges you may face, know that you are not alone and that you can do it. It's important to have confidence in your abilities and believe in yourself. Engineering is a field that can be challenging and intimidating, but don't let that discourage you. You are capable of great things and deserve to be here. Find a mentor who can guide and support you along the way. Finally, don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Engineering is a collaborative field, and no one can do it alone. Please share your stories and experiences in the comments below. I would love to hear from other women in STEM, and learn about your journeys. Let's create a community of support and empowerment! 💪 #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2024 #WomenInSTEM #WomenInEngineering #WomenInTechnology #WeAreSTEM

In engineering, women are in the minority at just 16.5% of the workforce. In fact, gender disparity is seen throughout all educational pathways into engineering. Of the 262 Engineering End Point Assessments that our team of assessors have carried out over the past 12 months or so, only 9 have been female candidates. So, today, on International Women's Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, we stand united in our belief that more should be done to highlight the opportunities for women in engineering as a challenging and rewarding career. But how can we target women into engineering? Showcasing historical and current roles of responsibility and experiences may be part of the answer – but what else should we be doing? #iwd2024 #EngEPA

🌟 Happy International Women in Engineering Day! 🌟 As a proud female Industrial Engineer, I'm thrilled to celebrate the incredible contributions and achievements of women engineers in our field. Today, we recognize and uplift the brilliant minds, innovative spirits, and trailblazing achievements of women engineers around the world. Today I was asked why we need International Women in Engineering Day, especially since we already have International Women's Day and other similar observances about gender. Here is why it matters to me: INWED serves as a crucial reminder of the urgent need for gender diversity in engineering—a field where diversity remains a significant issue (no surprise!) and where women's voices and contributions have often been overlooked. This day is essential to address the gender gap in STEM, inspiring the next generation of women to pursue careers in engineering and ensuring a future where diversity fuels innovation and engineering reflects the world we live in. https://lnkd.in/dQxbi_jE #INWED #WomenInEngineering #DiversityInSTEM #DEI #DiversityEquityInclusion
