Gender Diversity taking yet another setback in women sport at the Olympics. 🔙 International Olympic Committee Was Warned About Male Boxers, World Boxing Organization Vice President Says. Speaking to Reduxx, Marshi Smith, the co-founder of the Independent Council on Women’s Sports, condemned the IOC after reviewing the shocking revelations made by Kovács. “The cover-up and championing of male athletes in women’s Olympic sports is the greatest sports scandal of our lifetime,” Smith said. The Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS) is a non-partisan network and advocacy group comprised of current and former collegiate and professional women athletes. The boxing match yesterday between Hungarys Anna Luca Hámori and Algerian Imane Khelif was a non elegant fight where Khelif would turn the match into a strange wrestling thing by grabbing Hámoria by her neck and force her down on the floor 4 times. Even that Hámoria was warned by going ahead with her Olympic match against Khelif she bravely fought for her big dream but only by beating a male boxer. It was, in all ways, a disgraceful boxing match. Equal Playing Fields 👭 . Reading about how many years women have fought being able to participate in sport and experiences the latest new time how more and more sports branches including women is great equal improvement. But reading about the first historian setback in the 1930s for not including women the argument then was; women's health 🙈. Another interesting read is that the Olympic committee back then was the last to approve women participating in the Olympics games. So now we are all waiting for the Olympics committee president Thomas Bach to argue for why they allow men competing against women. They can certainly not use, because of women health and security!!!! Historically the representation of women in the Olympic Committee run behind the rate of its target of presence of women. Time for the Olympic committee to change your own game 👊 👊 #Lagertha #DEI #equalplayingfields #womeninsport #womenhealth #womenmensportteams #fairmatch #keepsportfunandbeautiful #ESG #longevity #genderdiversitygoingmad https://lnkd.in/dpkBxWWE

Women and Olympic Boxing? The problem in having a fixed position is it's sometimes hard to also square it with fairness and facts. I'm already in receipt of multiple meme jokes at the expense of the controversy over the inclusion of Lin Yu-ting and Imane Khelif in the women’s boxing competition. The media (news and social) is having a field day stirring up clickbait about trans hate or fairness for women in sport. The inconvenient reality to deal with is both Lin Yu and Khelif were born women. They are women and have done their sports for years. They do not appear to be drug cheats. They appear to have genetic chromosome differences, so they have more testosterone. Only recently has this become a concern. Whilst clearly this is complicated and the handling of the issue by Olympics boxing is more than poor, neither female athletes from birth have done anything wrong. Before one makes a joke, shares a meme, or passes a comment - this article from the Guardian is worth a read. https://lnkd.in/e2FDBUia

#Olympics #Sport #USOFSPORT #Paris #USA vs. France women's basketball final: The American women barley win their 8th straight Olympic gold 67-66 over France. Why was this the closest game in Olympic history for the U.S. women? For nearly three decades of the WNBA has improved women's basketball globally, as almost all of the world's best players have spent time in the league. We've seen more countries put greater investment in their women's athletes in several sports, basketball included. As a result, the United States has to face bigger challenges to stay ahead of the pack.

The Transition of Women’s Boxing The change that took place in the 20th century was arduously difficult for society and even more so for women's sport, which was going through an arduous rise in the area of boxing. Well, even today, we can notice that, to be a boxer, there are no stereotypes, by gender or mentality. Especially in the reason for its reach in the sport. With each participation that women have today in boxing. We can measure the height of visibility of their work and how they are recognized for their hard work: Despite having different regulations than men, disproportionate salaries for professional training and relationships with sponsors. #Boxing https://lnkd.in/exw8R8ms
