🫡 The Fibrenamics Institute, in partnership with the Army's Centre for Technological Experimentation and Modernization (CEMTEx), is taking part in ARTEX24, demonstrating innovative solutions developed in the Defence sector. 🇵🇹 The Portuguese Army, through CEMTEx, is conducting the 2nd edition of ARTEX, between June 17 and July 5, at the Campo Militar de Santa Margarida, which serves as a stage for testing the prototype resulting from the Fibrenamics Institute's participation in the innovative #SmartShield project, the aim of which is to be able to monitor the damage caused by high-speed impact on multilayer composites, through the incorporation of active piezoresistive fibers within their composition. 🎯 This event, which is fundamental to the Army's operational training and maintenance, allows the 18 participants to assess the usefulness and maturity of their technological innovations in a controlled scenario. #SmartShield #ExércitoPortuguês #Defense #Protection #Fibrenamics

We are introducing a series of analytical articles on defence tech from the Defence Builder team. In the first article, Kateryna Kistol, an Analyst at Defence Builder Accelerator, explores the key differences between #defencetech and #miltech — terms that have become widespread in Ukraine during the full-scale war. While often used interchangeably, these concepts have distinct meanings and implications. Kateryna's analysis reveals how defence technologies encompass the entire ecosystem from production to integration, whereas military technology focuses on specialised weapons systems and equipment, designed for the needs of warfare. #defencetech vs #miltech "By comparison, in the framework of defence-tech, one can easily imagine a multicopter type cargo drone, used both on the battlefield — for attack operations or delivery of various kinds of cargo to the friendly units, — as well as in rescue operations, not in a conflict zone. Instead, mil-tech production is originally designed and constructed entirely for warfare purposes." That's the interesting perspective. Are you agree #defencetech = dual-use solutions?

Heading John Galt International and John Galt Zinga Technologies. President - ISB Alumni Association, Mumbai Chapter
Our association with DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India is more than 30 years old! From jointly developing the Aircraft Arrester Barrier Systems with Aerial Delivery Research and Development Establishment (ADRDE) in the 1990's to acquiring crucial tech and know-how for the Expandable Mobile Shelter (EMS), we continue to shape John Galt International as a niche Indian Defence Player. I see tremendous potential in the EMS. War-zones are devoid of real estate, and having a transportable shelter that can expand it's footprint by 3X is a key requirement of the armed forces. What's more, I also see disruption in the porta-cabin industry. With India expanding it's infrastructure footprint, companies can reduce their overall costs of transporting and providing cabin space to their site engineers. The EMS can be setup by 2 people in less than 10 minutes, without the need of mobile cranes, or jigs and fixtures. Let's increase the space without increasing the cost!
We have acquired yet another military grade technology from DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India! John Galt acquires Expandable Mobile Shelter (EMS) technology from Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE, a DRDO Lab). The EMS provides 3X the real estate space needed in field operations, thereby assisting the Indian Armed Forces Read more on https://lnkd.in/dFjt6Vnr Abhay Bhatia
