🔴 This is collaboration done right. 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶 𝘅 𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. What do a 🇵🇷 Puerto Rican music icon, who topped #Spotify's most-streamed artist list for three years running (2020, 2021, 2022), and 🇦🇷 Lionel Messi, a living #football legend, have in common? 🎙️⚽ Probably a lot. 🔵 But one thing's for sure: they're both #Adidas brand ambassadors. ▶ Adidas #Originals just dropped a fresh #footwear collection in collaboration with Bad Bunny and Lionel Messi. The collection features two styles: the #Gazelle Indoor, inspired by the classic Adidas Gazelle, and the #F50 cleat, a nod to Messi's legendary career. Both shoes have a #vintage vibe with personal details like using "Benito" and "Leo" instead of their full names. 🏆 The F50 cleat has gold accents to represent Messi's trophies and both shoes have cool co-branding elements that rep both these giants. Adidas nailed, going for a super retro feel that takes us right back to childhood and simpler times: ▶ 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀? ▶ check out the full #video, which includes a promo movie for the collab. ⚽⚽⚽ Messi just happened to score a hattrick rocking the new F50s. Did Adidas lose the German Football team's shirt deal because of a rapper? Kanye West's controversial remarks led Adidas to cut ties, impacting their revenues, especially with Yeezy shoes off the market. The German football team's poor performance also harmed the German Football Federation (DFB) financially. When the DFB opened bids for kits, Nike seized the opportunity and offered twice the amount that Adidas did. The result? The DFB terminated an almost 80-year-old relationship with Adidas in favor of a new 8-year deal with Nike. The move received heavy criticism in Germany, with some even calling it unpatriotic. What's your take? Did the DFB make the right call? #Adidas #Nike #GermanFootball #DFB #KanyeWest #Yeezy #Sponsorship #SportsBiz #FootballKit #NikevsAdidas #Sports #SportsMarketing #Branding #Sportswear #Marketing

Whats your perspective? A week ago, Magnus Carlsen was disqualified from the Rapid Championship because he refused to change his jeans. Fast forward 3 days, the FIDE relaxes the rule of only wearing formal pants, and allowing appropriate jeans as a one of the dress code for the World Blitz Championships, marking Carlsen’s return to the mega event. How do we perceive it? There are 2 sides in my view. Side One - you strictly got to follow the Dress code etiquettes irrespective of how big a player you are. No player is bigger than the game. A Virat Kohli cannot refuse to wear an Adidas Team India jersey only because he is a Puma global athlete. If he is representing the team, or a sport, he has to follow a proper dress code. Side Two - you cannot tell an individual what do wear for a match. Carlsen definitely dressed up “appropriately” for a chess game, in a pair of denim jeans, which is globally accepted, and did not resort to any indecent dressing. What’s your take on this? Really exciting move this from the FIDE. #chess #FIDE #sportsindustry #MagnusCarlsen

🇹🇷 Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have sealed a 5-year partnership with Adidas, securing the German sportswear brand as their new kit supplier, after their dispute with Puma who opted to prioritise their deal with Galatasaray on the Turkish market. 👕 The new deal with Adidas is reportedly worth €10 million anually, while it also promises exclusive kit designs for the club, and a 65% revenue share from kit sales for Fenerbahçe. 💰 Aditionally, the deal also includes an annual payment of between €2.5 million and €4 million for the rights to the club’s amateur sports teams, providing a significant financial boost. #fenerbahce #football #adidas

Which one is your favourite? 🤔 Adidas and Puma were founded by brothers Adolf (Adi) and Rudolf Dassler, who originally worked together in a family shoe business in Germany. Their company gained international fame when Jesse Owens won four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics wearing their shoes. However, in 1948, the brothers had a bitter falling out, leading them to split the company. Adi founded Adidas, while Rudolf created Puma, sparking a fierce rivalry that would last for decades. This rivalry played out on the global stage, particularly during major sporting events like the Olympics. In one notable incident during the 1960 Rome Olympics, both companies aggressively competed for athlete endorsements. Puma paid sprinter Armin Hary to wear their shoes during his gold medal-winning race, only for him to switch to Adidas shoes for the medal ceremony, reportedly to get paid by both brands. This episode epitomized the intense competition between the two brands, which drove both companies to innovate and push the boundaries of sports marketing.
