✅ We're back with another webinar alongside Apollo Fire Detectors. Join us on 20 June at 10.30am as we explore the BS 7273-4 code of practice for the operation of fire protection measures. It is common for a fire detection and fire alarm system to be linked to various forms of door hardware. Devices are actuated by the arrangements described in BS 7273-4 to open, release, or unlock doors that form part of the means of escape in the event of a fire, or that prevent the spread of smoke and fire into escape routes. Their use might also be required to make buildings, and circulation routes within buildings, accessible for groups of people, such as those with certain forms of disability. Sound interesting? Before the invention of fire alarms, communities relied on each other to spot fires, spread the word, and tackle the flames. In 1852, Dr. William F. Channing and Moses Farmer changed the game by introducing the world's first fire alarm. 🔥 This groundbreaking device had a crank-operated handle that, when turned, alerted a nearby station, and an operator at the station would then relay the message to the fire department. However, using it posed challenges as people were reluctant to spend crucial moments cranking the handle instead of escaping the fire. While the 1852 system may appear complex by today's standards, it laid the foundation for modern fire alarm technology, reminding us of the progress made in fire safety over the years. 🚒🚨 #FireSafety #FireHistory #InnovationInFireProtection #LegacyOfInvention #Capitalguard #CuttingEdgeInnovations #UnparalleledProtection

Fire safety matters! Let's talk about fire detection systems - the unsung heroes of early fire detection. Here are 3 types of fire detection systems: 1. Smoke Detectors: These systems sense smoke in the air, signalling a fire. 2. Heat Detectors: They detect rising temperatures, indicating a fire, useful in places like kitchens. 3. Flame Detectors: These spot flames using special sensors, often used in industrial settings. #FireSafety #DetectionSystems #StaySafe
