Monday's are for some data drops! Today, I had conversations with two tenured talent acquisition leaders that really highlighted how impactful a good recruiter can be in today’s hiring landscape. Here’s what they shared: Direct Job Applications - When candidates apply directly to their company job posting, only about 2-4% make it through to a phone screen or 1st round interview. (MIND BLOWN!) Employee Referrals - Referrals fared a little bit better, with 20-26% of referred candidates reaching the interview stage. It’s clear that internal recommendations carry weight, but even here, only about one in five get through. Recruiter Submissions - Here’s where things shift dramatically. When resumes come through recruiters, more than 60% of those candidates are moved to the interview stage! This isn’t just about numbers...it’s about the value of targeted, prescreened talent. A skilled recruiter understands a company’s culture and needs, and they know how to match that with candidates who are not only qualified but are likely to be a great fit. So, if you’re on the job hunt, or you’re hiring, think about the “recruiter advantage.” The data speaks for itself. 💰

First glimpse of the data for our quarterly Hiring Manager Insights Report on Recruiter Insider and again another HUGE gap in experience to conversion to placement being delivered by hiring managers. A 17% difference in conversion to placement between hiring managers providing an experience between 91-100 than those 81-90. The single easiest way for agencies to make more placements is to measure the candidate experience throughout the entire hiring process.
