Helping Junior Designers Secure Their First Job | Staff Product Designer at Juro

Job descriptions for design roles need less of this: - 'Rockstar' or 'Ninja' Designer titles that set unrealistic expectations - Job descriptions demanding 5+ years of experience for entry-level roles - Vague responsibilities that lack context And more of: - Accurate and straightforward job titles that reflect the role - Realistic experience requirements aligned with the job level - Detailed responsibilities that provide a clear picture of the role If you're in the job hunt, or even on the other side drafting job postings, let's challenge the norms that don't serve us well. What would you add to these lists? For more insights on navigating the complex world of design jobs, subscribe to my newsletter: https://lnkd.in/eVZtrpQA #ux #jobsearch #design #juniordesigner

“Marketing Ninja” “Developer Ninja” “Ninja this and ninja that” WTF does that even mean in a recruitment terms? "A ninja was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan. The functions of a ninja included espionage, deception, and surprise attacks. Their covert methods of waging irregular warfare were deemed dishonourable and beneath the honor of the samurai." - Wikipedia So you want me to: - Be covert & silent at your company - Deceive everybody at work - Spy on other companies - Act without any moral in the workspace - Be deemed dishonourable then regular workers - Just as a mercenary, my only drive should be money Thanks, but I’m all good without doing all of that! 😉🤣😂
