Mr. Al Cole embodies the values of compassion, selflessness and community service and truly understands the importance of giving back. He makes a difference in the lives of others every day at Oaks Of Clearwater, and we're proud to honor him as our 2024 Adult Volunteer of the Year. #qualitymatters
This year's Adult Volunteer of the Year has been an important part of the Oaks of Clearwater for the past four years. Mr. Al Cole's commitment to enrich the lives of his fellow residents at the Yokes came despite facing many personal challenges, including caring for his beloved wife who lost her battle with dementia last year. He often visits the residents in the skilled and memory care units and offers comforts to those who need someone to lean on. Because they're going through difficult times. Mr. Cole is very passionate about ensuring high quality long term care services for everyone and recently he traveled to Tallahassee with the Oaks team and spent the day at the FHCA lobby. Wednesday, his full day at the Capitol, visiting legislators and leaving a lasting impact as a voice for seniors and an advocate for investing in their care. Mr. Cole embodies the values of compassion, selflessness, and community service and truly understands the importance of giving back. He shared that volunteering is his therapy. It's a way of finding purpose and fulfillment and making a difference in the lives of others every day. Please join me in congratulating Mr. Al Cole, volunteer for the Oaks of Clearwater as FHA's 2024 Adult Volunteer. Of the year. Thank everybody for coming. And I would just like to say that acknowledgement of me being here is, is not just for myself, it's for other people at the Oaks that help me do what I do because I couldn't do it alone. And and the people that own the ocean work at the Oaks and live at the Oaks, they make my life. Very livable since my wife passed away so and I thank all of them along with everything else. Thank you. Yes Sir.
Life is unpredictable, but saying goodbye shouldn't be.

2nd attempt to post. Though at DEA they are not so proud to highlight their shortcomings that they have no issue hiding from taxpayers.
They removed my previous posts which simply expresses DEA's willingness to hide their incompetence and disabled comments on the appropriate post.
If this firm put out the truth and numbers of how many things they had to redo on this Highway 20 Safety Upgrade between Corvallis and Albany OR taxpayers would have something to say about this firm’s laughable ranking.
How about it DEA, put out an itemized list of everything that had to be done two or three times because it wasn’t done right in the first place and how much taxpayers money was wasted in the process. In my driveway alone they had to do multiple things more than once. No wonder ODOT never comes in on budget with incompetence like this!
Taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for this!
DEA was contracted for at least the Newberg-Dundee Bypass, the worst one, up 239% from original estimate.

The skyrocketing evictions occurring nationwide are having an impact on people and their beloved pets. Overflowing animal shelters have also become a national crisis. The dip in adoptions along with the rise in dog intake from unclaimed strays and owner surrenders is a complete 180 from the surge in adoptions of dogs and cats we saw during the pandemic. According to Shelter Animals Count (SAC), stray dogs taken in by shelters have risen 6% in the January to November 2023 period compared to 2022 and are up a whopping 22% since 2021!

Imagine scaling a 30-foot flagpole to take down a symbol of hate. That's exactly what Bree Newsome Bass did in 2015, when she bravely removed the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House. With each step, she defied centuries of oppression and sparked a national movement for racial justice.
Things we can learn from her courage:
💡 Direct action CREATES change.

🤝 We recently talked to Pastor Gabriel Dominguez, Associate Pastor at the Methodist Church in City of Waco, TX, in a podcast, where he shared how Faith & Blue events facilitate collaboration and trust between law enforcement and communities.
Pastor Dominguez explained, "The events themselves help in two different ways. They either kick off new partnerships between local churches or nonprofits and law enforcement, or they reinforce ongoing collaborations. For us, it reinforced what we were already doing in the community."
🙌 He recalled a memorable moment during a flyer distribution for a local event: "We were knocking on doors in the projects, and I knew many people there. One guy, skeptical at first, saw an officer with me and asked, 'What is he doing here?' I assured him, 'He's with me, bro. We're good.' This man, who had only interacted with police negatively, ended up joining us." This story illustrates how events can break the ice and foster meaningful connections between law enforcement and community members, even in challenging areas.
For those looking to enhance their community engagement strategies, the Law Enforcement Community Engagement Network (LECEN) offers invaluable resources. LECEN provides best practices, peer support, industry expertise, and current research for both sworn and non-sworn personnel in community engagement roles across the nation.
