June 27th is PTSD Awareness Day, a time to acknowledge the profound impact Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder has on the lives of those affected by it. Our Blue Light community—paramedics, police officers, firefighters, and other emergency service workers & volunteers—face extraordinary challenges daily, making them particularly vulnerable to PTSD. If you are part of the Blue Light community and are struggling, please know you are not alone. Sharing your experiences and emotions can be a powerful step toward healing. Keeping your struggles to yourself can intensify the burden. It’s okay to reach out for help—let’s break the silence around mental health together. The Blue Light Card Foundation funds vital projects aimed at supporting the wellbeing of our emergency service workers & volunteers. One such initiative is Walk and Talk 999, where members can engage in supportive, therapeutic walks with peers who understand their unique pressures. Our donations help us support incredible individuals, who have found solace and strength through programs we've supported. By contributing, you enable us to expand our reach and impact, providing more comprehensive support to those who need it most. Donate Now to the Blue Light Card Foundation and help us continue making a difference in the lives of our blue light community members. https://lnkd.in/e_mYqKxY Together, we can create a healthier, more resilient blue light community. #PTSDAwarenessDay #BlueLightCommunity #PTSDawareness #MentalHealthMatters #SupportOurCommunity #WalkAndTalk999 #DonateNow

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚 I'm proud to be running the 2024 TCS NYC Marathon with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - NYC chapter. NAMI-NYC provides free support, education, and advocacy to families and individuals affected by mental illness. As some of you know, my family has faced unimaginable challenges navigating mental illness, especially during the years leading up to my brother Tom's tragic passing in 2017. In many ways, it felt like the system failed us, as adequate support and resources were difficult to access. These experiences have inspired me to run my first marathon with NAMI-NYC. Their services would have been invaluable during those difficult times. Join me in this journey by donating to my fundraiser (https://lnkd.in/eQuCWAKf). Every step I take in training and every dollar raised for NAMI-NYC helps ensure that no family has to navigate mental illness alone. Let's run towards a future where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health. Together, we can create a more inclusive and accessible world for those struggling with or impacted by mental illness 💚 #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #NAMINYC #NYCMarathon 1 in 5 individuals in the United States lives with a mental illness. The other four are family, friends, colleagues, neighbors. We all deserve culturally responsive, accessible health and mental health care — and NAMI-NYC has been at the forefront of that fight for over 40 years. It's likely that you know someone who's experiencing challenges with their mental health. The persistent stigma around mental health care plays a role in preventing people from seeking help. In fact, more than 30% of Americans still worry about being judged by others for seeking mental health services. A single company, nonprofit, or individual cannot solve this dynamic challenge. That's why Elevance Health President and CEO Gail Boudreaux and professional basketball player Kevin Love are coming together as part of the Elevance Health Champion program - supported by the Elevance Health Foundation - to increase awareness and raise funds to help support programs that improve behavioral health. #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters https://ow.ly/Ss3Q30sEvEZ

I like numbers. Here are some numbers on mental health: - One in five children and young people in the UK had a probable mental disorder in 2023 (NHS) - Over 700,000 people take their own life each year – that’s one person every 40 seconds (WHO 2021) - Polish children have one of the lowest rates of mental well-being and one of the highest rates of attempted suicides in Europe. In 2022, police investigated 2031 suicide attempts by those under the age of 18, an increase of 148% since 2020 (WHO) - In 2019, 301 million people were living with an anxiety disorder including 58 million children and adolescents (Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation. Global Health Data Exchange (GHDx)) I don't like those numbers. The Mental Health Foundation is the UK’s charity focusing on prevention. They aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive. My goal is to raise £5,000 for this important cause. James Dyson Foundation offered to double what I collect! With your support, we can make a difference together. Let's come together and create a world where mental health is prioritized and everyone has access to the support they need. Join me on this incredible journey by donating today! https://lnkd.in/e4XSdDVD

Each May, millions of people from every part of society take part. They include people in schools and further education; private, public and charity sectors; families and individuals. Moving more is good for our mental health, so what's stopping us? Regular physical activity is known to improve mental health, quality of life, and wellbeing. It also helps prevent and treat heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and breast and colon cancer, and more. Despite these benefits being well established, over a third of UK adults do not meet the recommended amount of activity. In our new report, we explore what’s stopping the UK population from being more active, and what could help get people moving more for their mental health. Magellan Aerospace Limited ✈ 🚶♂️ 🏊♀️ 👟
