Earlier this month, our Founding Partner Kirsten Green took the stage at Fortune Brainstorm Tech to present on how to win with consumers in AI. We received a lot of interest in her slides, so we've now made them fully available for anyone to review. See Kirsten's presentation for our view on: • The broad behavioral shifts we're seeing amongst consumers, which is giving way to new demands that AI is uniquely positioned to address • A more technical analysis of what kind of consumer AI experiences are best positioned to thrive, and frameworks for how entrepreneurs can successfully build here • The "trust stack," an essential building block in broader consumer AI adoption https://lnkd.in/g9fdkWuu

We are entering an era of abundance where creativity, productivity, and connection will flourish. Read more on Fortune - a16z general partner Anish Acharya shares where we at Andreessen Horowitz are placing our bets on consumer AI 🚀 #a16z #AI
“If it’s weird and working, it’s exactly where we want to invest…Weird products tend to win.” Andreessen Horowitz general partner Anish Acharya exclusively spoke to #TermSheet in advance of a16z’s Wednesday blog post drop outlining the firm’s strategy for investing in consumer AI. In 2024, here's what Acharya and a16z are betting on: In a world powered by AI, three things will especially flourish—creativity, productivity, and connection. It’s all rooted in the idea we’re entering an “era of abundance.” Acharya’s idea is that for consumers there will be more of all sorts of things—more opportunities for consumers to produce art (he mentions Midjourney a few times), improved workflows that may ultimately trim workweeks, and increased opportunities for connection. “My controversial take on this is that we all know there’s a need for human connection, but I think the human part is overstated,” he said. 🚀🚀🚀 AI rockets are taking off, but can they land? Check out this fantastic opinion piece by Andrew Poesaste in SmartCompany. We'd love to hear your thoughts. Are there any other questions founders should consider in the rapidly accelerating frontier of #AI?
I wrote a piece with SmartCompany, talking to founders who are building with AI and trying to cross the chasm from wedge to product-market fit towards building an enduring company. Check out the full piece below. "There are four key questions that AI founders need to ask themselves: 1 ) Working backwards, what is the most ambitious version of the company, and what experiments can we run to maximise our learning to get there in the next year? 2) Why is this the right wedge product/market, and how do we build from there? Can we build to cater to more of the workflow and help deliver more value to customers over time? 3) What logical steps can be proven out or derisked over time to show that you’re on the right track? 4) What unfair advantage does this give you over time? Why would it be hard for a customer to leave you?"

3moLove the idea of AI solving for the paradox of choice and providing consumers with RELIEF! I continue to see a massive gulf between these AI tools and the consumers who could benefit most from them. Some of this is mistrust, but I think there are lots of consumers who simply don't know how and where to start. In the near term, I think there's a lot of white space when it comes to making the interfaces more elegant/consumer-friendly and nailing those high-relief customer journeys in a way that also demystifies AI.
