We have today signed an agreement to sell our Recycling & Waste business to Summa Equity. The divestment is in line with our Nordic strategy with focus on clean energy and provides us the opportunity to put enhanced focus on our core operations in clean power generation to drive electrification and build preparedness for future growth. With the new ownership, we see that the Recycling & Waste businesses have even better opportunities to grow: “We are very pleased to have found a very suitable new owner that is well positioned to further enhance and drive future growth opportunities for the recycling and waste business. Next to the clean energy transition, material scarcity is one of the biggest societal challenges we need to solve. Now is the right time for the new owner to take over”, says our President and CEO Markus Rauramo. https://lnkd.in/gvF4HweD

In a recent profile interview with letsrecycle.com, RiverRidge CEO Brett Ross discusses some of the changes the company has seen since its acquisition in 2023 by Cube and Equitix Investment Management. Brett discusses how the acquisition has enabled RiverRidge to facilitate a more ambitious expansion of their innovative technologies and empowered them to develop a more clearly defined company roadmap. He likewise underlines the ongoing significant impact of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) on the waste sector, notably by investing in anaerobic digestion and transitioning its vehicle fleet to greener alternatives. In addition, RiverRidge has recently released its inaugural #ESG report, building upon its strategy of diminishing the carbon cost of waste treatment and diverting materials from landfills. Finally, the company has been collaborating with Northern Regional College and the Responsible Plastic Management Program, underscoring their commitment to fostering talent and innovation within the waste sector. We applaud RiverRidge's success following the acquisition and look forward to seeing the company grow and scale its business further. https://lnkd.in/eafq4ZYN... #capabilitymeetscapital
