How we’ve been supporting our community instead of monetary donations… Up until the end of 2022 we donated all of our drop-in fees to local charities to support community initiatives, and we’re proud of how much we donated over the years. In 2023 we shifted to donating our time and services instead, something that brings confidence, physical strength and resiliency to the communities we serve. In 2023 we provided 38 private personal training sessions to Safe Hope Home. This supports their objective to provide long-term programs, designed to guide sexually exploited or trafficked women, or those at identifiable risk of becoming sexually exploited/trafficked into full rehabilitation and reintegration into society. This process includes housing, post-secondary education, counselling and more. We’re happy to be continuing to support these women directly with more weekly personal training in 2024. Helping to build stronger women, mind, body and soul is in our hearts and being able to provide this to victims of human trafficking brings us feelings of true charitable work that we’re proud of. While the cost of living drastically rises, many that once donated monetary gifts may not be able to continue, this post is not only to raise awareness of SafeHope Home but also the ability to donate your time or services. Friends in or near Brighton and Hove - if you have any spare pennies each month (I know, not many of us do) would you consider becoming a regular supporter of the wonderful RISE UK ? I am glad and grateful every day to work with so many brilliant organisations in the women's sector, even if I believe that this sector should not have to exist. Women should not need to mop up after male violence against women and children, but we do. The women working in this sector are *incredible* - many are survivors and they combine professionalism, assertiveness, boundaries and compassion in a way I've not experienced anywhere else. They work with and for survivors day in day out, not just on the awareness days but every day. Helplines run 24/7/365. Because violence and abuse happens 24/7/365. Sadly, demand is growing and funding is harder to come by. One in three women will experience assault, abuse or violence in life - one in three. Think of your street, your business, your weekly shop. All those women. One In Three You might not think that your £2 a month can help. I promise you it will. I know that the women in this sector make every pound do the work of two. So your £2 will stretch, especially if you Gift Aid it. If you can help - thank you. And if you ever need a service like RISE or Yellow Door (Solent) or Refuge or Women's Aid Federation of England, know that there are incredible women waiting to talk, to take your call. Your sisters have your back.

We know the work we do matters - saves lives, makes lives brighter. We also know that demand for our services is increasing and that funding is harder to come by. We know times are tight, for us all. Like many women-led services many of the team within RISE are here because they've been on the other side of the table, the other end of the phone. We know our work because we've lived it. No donation is too small. 10 people donating £1 a month raises £120 a year - that's three counselling sessions for a child who has experienced abuse. No donation is too small - literally every penny counts. How about building something that survivors really need in order to build a new life Nothing is off limits to those who need it if we can raise enough money through the Big Give to create our own crisis fund We have 7 days to raise £10K to create a truly different crisis fund to help those fleeing domestic abuse.... - A fund that helps with the hidden costs such as paying for a credit check when getting a rental agreement to move into a safe property away from harm - A fund that families rebuilding their lives away from violence can apply for children's presents for the first birthday spent in their new lives when income may be hard
