From Isolation to Inclusion. How We Helped Build a Veteran-Friendly Community in Business Building a thriving business isn’t just about numbers, it’s about people. When it comes to veterans, their unique skills can transform a company, hiring veterans alone isn’t enough. Let me tell you the story of how we helped one company go from isolating its veterans to creating a community where they felt empowered to lead. We partnered with a mid-sized manufacturing firm that had a growing number of veteran hires. On paper, they were “military-friendly,” but veterans reported feeling disconnected from their peers and the company culture. The result? High turnover and frustration. Our first step was creating veteran liaison roles. Leaders who served as a voice for veteran employees. These liaisons bridged the gap between veterans and leadership. Additionally, we launched veteran peer networks, which allowed veterans to meet regularly, share experiences, and build camaraderie. We introduced a tailored onboarding program that included a career trajectory map. We also implemented continuous development initiatives, ensuring veterans had opportunities to grow and take on leadership positions within the company. We worked with leadership to ensure that veterans’ experiences were not just recognized but celebrated. This included educating the entire workforce on the strengths veterans bring, fostering a culture of inclusion, and incorporating veterans into leadership conversations. The results spoke for themselves. We saw a significant increase in veteran retention, job satisfaction, and productivity. Veterans who once felt isolated were now taking leadership roles, mentoring others, and driving company success. Sarah, a veteran who felt frustrated, isolated, and considered leaving, now leads the company’s veteran outreach initiatives. Her transformation exemplifies how inclusion can empower veterans to lead and make lasting impacts. A veteran-friendly workplace is more than just hiring. It’s about creating a culture where veterans feel supported, valued, and empowered. At FRAGO22, we specialize in transforming businesses into veteran-ready organizations that thrive. One of the things we stress with our clients is the process of breaking down a big, lofty vision into an executable plan and then into the tasks each team member will complete. Jenny von Podewils knows this well and has built that into the DNA at Leapsome, which helps both their company and is seen in how their platform is accelerating people enablement for companies around the globe. This message from MindWire's founders is too good to not share... -- MindWire has been named a finalist for the Phoenix Business Journal's Champions of Inclusion award! 🏆 Will we win? Don't know. But that doesn't really matter. We're honored to be on this select list, but that's not what is important about this. ❤️ Here's what is: When MindWire was founded, Jerry Rutter and I (Tom Riggs) had many discussions and were intentional about a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Our leadership team believes in DEI deeply as humans and know that it's not an "initiative" or "thing" you do--that it's also a critical part of a good business strategy and competitive advantage. Not only does it result in a more capable, effective MindWire, but we also serve a wide-range of Clients, and it's important that we reflect the communities we live in, and the Clients we support. What's most impressive is the fact that the MindWire team has come together around our common cause and passion that we have to: 1. Create our own great workplace, where people can be understood and valued for who they are--and not expected to be who they are not. 2. Help Clients unleash the astounding power of people, teams and organizations at their very best and in the process thwarting dark Sundays for as many humans as we can. We're small. We ARE diverse in so many ways. And many of us have seen first-hand in other organizations where that becomes a powder keg of division, dysfunction, and worse. Thanks to each of you, for making MindWire's version DEI a strength. 💪 And make no mistake--we're not perfect, and we can get better. And we will. But this isn't, and won't be an "initiative" or some activity we do to check boxes. It will continue to be tied to our values, culture and DNA here. Otherwise, it's just words. 🤷♂️ And like we tell our Clients, work on your strengths. This is one of ours. But we're just getting started, to be sure. 🚀 #DEIStrong #ChampionsOfInclusion #InclusionMatters

Senior Enlisted Leader, Joint Task Force-Micronesia. "Respect & Protect!" Our People are Our most important assets. Community Empowerment & Economic Development... positive Actions required!
Many organizations get stuck in the status quo and get the same old results. From a military perspective, we must embrace thinking differently and acting differently to seize opportunities that leverage the business industry in order to move faster and more effectively.
"Why don't people want to work anymore?" New hires arrive brimming with ideas, ready to ignite change, only to be met with indifference or resistance. New ideas die with old processes and systems, because that is what got them there. When your culture rejects change, you don't just lose ideas; you lose the people who bring them. That fresh energy and enthusiasm you hired for? It withers away in an environment that values the status quo over innovation. Yet the blame is put on the new generation "not wanting to work." This isn't just bad for morale, it's deadly for growth, and costing your organization a significant amount of money, time, and talent. The message you send when you dismiss new ideas is clear: “We’re not interested in getting better.” Every business must evolve or risk becoming irrelevant. If you want to thrive, create a culture where innovation isn’t just welcomed but celebrated. At FRAGO22, we’ve seen firsthand how empowering voices, fostering creativity, and embracing change can turn the tide for struggling organizations. It's time to move from a culture of complacency to one of dynamic growth. Are you ready to break the cycle? Let’s talk about how we can help you transform your organization into a place where ideas flourish and innovation thrives. Daughter. Mars-ian. Mental Health Champion. Thinker. Constant Learner. Advocate for a better Tomorrow.
“Those are things of the past, we are moving to the new & different now.” How often do you hear this and feel left behind, let down and demotivated? Let’s talk about this. In today’s lightning-paced era where functional capabilities in the corporate world are one’s USP, as businesses make strides with partners and stakeholders with the appeal of the “next new thing” - We, the corporate community, often fail to take a moment and honestly recognize where, how and with whom we started. Yes, the “next new thing” is super important to survive, thrive and ensure presence, profitability and progress - However, we tend to drag down or brush under the carpet equally good foundations laid brick by brick by equally competent predecessors who also paved the way to today after facing turbulence in their era & who too have their own share of victories. A good chunk of any organization’s workforce includes process custodians and veterans with stellar track records and achievements who, as their teams and organizations move into new chapters, are oftentimes cut out of the journey or worse, have their hard-won accolades tarnished as the “low benchmark from which we rose to the present”. Any journey, as in our regular lives, has a starting point. A beginning. Let’s always start from there. While we all close 2023 on great highs, let’s take a good long look at the next new things around us and appreciate how the journey began and be grateful for all those who passed on their batons with pride to us. Let’s reflect with pride on the past while we walk into the future. Ahoy, 2024! ✨ #GrowWithPride #Purpose #InclusionMatters #MarsWrigley #FivePrinciples
