Quantum Game Theory meets Quantum Networks “Quantum Games promise increase in efficiency and payoffs, emergence of new equilibria and novel game strategies which are simply not possible in the classical domain. Owing to these advantages, quantum games have been applied to recast different quantum algorithms and information processing techniques as games characterized by strategies and rules for gathering a deeper understanding of those algorithms and techniques. Yesterday was #WorldQuantumDay and we are celebrating the achievements of #JohnStewartBell, a physicist from #Belfast #NorthernIreland who spent 30 years of his career at #CERN. Sixty years ago, in 1964, #JohnBell proposed one of the most important physics theorems of the 20th century, which provided a way to test experimentally whether the predictions of quantum mechanics were correct. Einstein was sceptical, calling quantum entaglement "spooky action at a distance", but Bell was able to prove that Einstein's doubts were unfounded. Bell's Theorem was later proved experimentally by physicists John Clauser, Alain Aspect and Anton Zeilinger, who split the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics "for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science".
