Today, September 23 marks Bi+ Visibility Day, a day dedicated to raise awareness of the unique issues facing the community. ❤💜💙 Bi+ is an umbrella term, which refers to people who experience attraction to two or more genders, and includes other terms, such as bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual and polysexual. According to Gallup 2023, bi+ people represent the largest LGBTQ+ demographic (more than 50% of LGBTQ+ community). However, a recent study carried out by nonprofit Out & Equal shows that 38% of bisexual people are not ‘out’ in the workplace, compared to 18% of the broader LGBTQ+ community. Your courage, resilience, and dedication have brought us to where we are today. While we celebrate these achievements, we also acknowledge that the fight for equality is far from over. Our commitment to advocacy and activism remains strong. Together, we must continue to push for policies that protect and uplift our community, challenge discrimination, and foster inclusivity. Here’s how we can continue the fight for equality: Advocate for Change: Support and push for laws and policies that promote LGBTQ+ rights and protections. Educate and Raise Awareness: Share information and educate others about LGBTQ+ issues and the importance of equality. Support LGBTQ+ Organizations: Contribute to and volunteer with organizations that work towards equality and support the community. Stand Up Against Discrimination: Challenge homophobia, transphobia, and all forms of discrimination whenever you encounter them.
