Pinching every paisa and making every rupee count, because budgets are serious business! Oh, and let's not forget their role as the Chief Future Officer. Predicting trends, foreseeing financial troubles, and keeping the ship sailing smoothly into the future. Last but not least, they're your Chief Funding Officer. Need cash? They'll find a way to make it rain (responsibly, of course). So next time you meet a CFO, remember, they're not just number-crunchers. Ok, here's the situation...business owners, board members and #nonprofit leaders are frustrated with their finance function. 😠 They don't have accurate and timely numbers that helps them know the financial health of their company and organization. 😥 Then, when they finally do get the numbers they're not sure what they're saying...or what the action items are as a result. 🤔 Accounting/Finance Department 101 course coming at you. 👨🏫 Each company or organization needs some level of the functions (as shown in the graph below). 👇 Here's the key point: The bookkeeper, Controller and CFO are each distinct and necessary roles. 👨💼 👩💼 👨💼 Each of those roles have a particular function that is important to make sure leadership has the financial information they need to make decisions for their company or organization. 💡 If you don't have someone specifically responsible for the transactional, analysis, systems and strategic areas of your finance function, then it is sitting on someone else's plate (or maybe yours)...and I'm willing wager that you feel the weight of it and lack of expertise in those areas. 😣 (Please excuse the mass generalization of this post...I do realize there are some great finance shops out there...I'm their biggest fan 📣) #fractionalcfo #nonprofitleadership #business #finance #accounting BT Advisors LLC

Everybody needs a CFO in their lives - what is it and why? 🤔 What is a CFO? A CFO is a chief financial officer. Their key roles are: ↗️ providing financial direction and accountability 🖇 linking the operational levers to the financial levers of the business so the impact of moving each is known and anticipated before actions are taken 🫣 the soundboard for creative ideas to bring the necessary financial and often non-financial resources together to map things out This is just 3 of the key roles and is why we love it at Tennick Accountants where we are asked to fulfil this role such as with R.E.P.R.E.S.E.N.T and even more fun when we are asked to be a co-founder. 😐 Why does everybody need this? Every business owner to some extent should be offered and hopefully receive this as they need direction to help move their business forward. They need accountability and a sounding board for actions they are taking. Finally; and most importantly, they need the confidence in terms of struggle to see them through, to ensure they enjoy the journey and can exit their business WHEN they want, with WHAT they want, HOW they want.

As a CFO, I'm accustomed to navigating through complex financial landscapes. Yesterday, I ventured into a different kind of challenge: tackling the Copper River 10K Run/Walk! This experience reinforced the importance of challenging yourself, being adaptable and accomplishing goals.
