🌍 At Fresenius Kabi, we are committed to fostering diversity, inclusion, and growth within advanced therapies. On 26 November 2024, we were proud to have our colleague Jenny Stjernberg, PhD, Director of Commercialization, Therapeutic Apheresis, and Cell Therapy, serve as co-chair of the WiAT (Women in Advanced Therapies) session at ATMP Sweden’s annual meeting in Malmö. Jenny’s session, “Challenges and Benefits to Establishing Diversity,” brought together leading voices to discuss the importance of diversity within the advanced therapy field. The session featured speakers from institutions across the Nordic region - including CCRM Nordic, VILDA, and Lund University - highlighting how diversity in gender, background, age, and nationality fuels innovation, fosters collaboration, and strengthens inclusivity. Reflecting on her experience, Jenny shared, “Having attended ATMP many times, it’s a true honor to co-chair a session close to my heart. This discussion goes beyond promoting diversity—empowering the audience to take the next step in their careers, making connections, and setting best practices to build a more inclusive ATMP field.” The panel discussion offered valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of creating diversity-focused roles and initiatives, showing how institutions can work together to drive positive change.
