It’s easy to talk about gender diversity, but it is more difficult to represent it! Today, I would like to speak my voice to explain why #inspireinclusion is paving the way to innovation, creativity, and agility at Plastic Omnium:   ☑️ First, Inclusion is to think differently with one common objective: to be game changers! And this mindset starts from our Top Management embodied by Laurent Favre and Felicie Burelle,   ☑️ It is also cultural, our #ACTFORALL program highlights our proactivity to fostering an inclusive culture in the Group: each of you (employees, new talents, external stakeholders, partners, and customers) contributes to nurturing #DEI through our HR strategy.   Our “Global Feminization” Award received last night from WAVE AUTOS speaks for itself, it highlights the strength of our commitment thanks to:   1️⃣ Our WoMen@PO network of volunteers (> 700 members),   2️⃣ Our network of 80 DEI Ambassadors, associates supporting Plastic Omnium’s transformation into a more inclusive work environment, with over 35 events rolled out last year,   3️⃣ Our External partners like Elles bougent, WAVE AUTOS in Europe and CADIA in the US.   What does greater diversity brings to Plastic Omnium? Performance, of course! But also a great change in mindset at all levels of the organization, leading to an improved employee experience! What’s coming next? We have set ambitious goals to be reached by 2030 but we still have work to do: 🎯 We need to accelerate in the Engineering metiers, where women are clearly underrepresented, 🎯 We need to keep improving our assessment processes by identifying and increasing women pipeline. So, my advice to all of you 👉 Act as fast track, open new ways to inclusion!

Diversity is strength.

It surely is a BIG inspiration towards Gender Equality in Public Transit. La Rolita - Operadora Distrital de Transporte., which operates merely 195 Electric buses in Bogota, Columbia has 479 women drivers. 60% of its driver workforce are women. Was it simple for them? Is it simple for any organisation to hire women as bus drivers. It never is but they have been able to do a great job on the same. I believe next best in the world may be Delhi, capital city of India having nearly 100 women bus drivers in their driver workforce. Although this may only be constituting less than 1% of overall drivers for its bus fleet. As a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace, it’s important to address the pay gap that exists in our community. In Triple Pundit’s recent article, I share a few insights into this pressing concern with a few solutions to bridge the divide. 1.     Break Through the Rainbow Glass Effect: The lack of LGBTQ+ representation in leadership positions creates a "Rainbow Glass Effect." We need more role models in leadership to inspire future generations. 2.     Create Supportive Spaces: Peer groups, such as the Gay Men's Leadership Circles run by Peter Gandolfo, MBA, Executive Coach (PCC) and myself are invaluable. These spaces provide support, mentorship, and a sense of community that many LGBTQ+ professionals may not find within their organizations. 3.     Self-Advocacy and Allyship: Advocating for ourselves is vital, but it's equally important for allies to step up. Allyship is about taking meaningful actions to create a safe and inclusive environment. Inclusive workplaces are not just a moral imperative; they're also good for business. When LGBTQ+ individuals can bring their authentic selves to work, it benefits both employees and organizations, leading to improved productivity and profitability. To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Win Malaga Chapter hosted an event this morning “Empowering Women in the Workplace” with our two special speakers: Sara F. Garcia Greenberry, EP Global Distribution Manager, Cat Financial Insurance Services & Eva Blasberg, EAME Strategy Manager, EAME Distribution Division at Caterpillar. Sara and Eva shared their experiences and testimonies on their very exciting careers journeys which inspired all of us, altogether with their humility. From all that has been shared, I would like to highlight two ideas: ·       Let your results and achievements be what drives your career forward. ·       Stepping out of the comfort zone is where the growth happens. Diversity and Inclusion are key Caterpillar pillars as Essential accelerators. It is very rewarding to review the successes we have already accomplished on women’s opportunities and gender bias, and reflect on what more we can do to continue driving the cultural change we desire for the next generations. Worldwide, less than 20% of jobs in the transportation sector are held by women. In Colombia, gender equality meets sustainable transportation head-on. Bogota's public bus service, La Rolita - Operadora Distrital de Transporte. is making tremendous strides in the climate sector with its fully electric bus fleet. Not only that, it's also a model for gender equity: 50% of La Rolita's workforce and 60% of its drivers are women, many of whom are holding a steady job for the first time. 💪 This initiative isn't just a local effort; it's part of a broader movement. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) is leading a global project to make the public transit system more gender-inclusive. Rob De Jong, Head of the Sustainable Mobility Unit at UNEP, emphasizes the importance of women's participation in electric mobility for a sustainable future. But why does this matter? The transportation sector is currently responsible for 15% of global emissions and is projected to double by 2050. However, initiatives like La Rolita's demonstrate the potential for change. Latin America, with over 5,000 e-buses, is leading the charge towards a greener future in public transit, and recognizing the correlation between gender equality and sustainability. 🚌 Let's remember that initiatives like La Rolita's are not just about buses; they're about creating a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.

Unconscious bias is a topic that affects everyone, but what does it actually mean? The Network of Engine Women (NEW) event management team therefore invited Susanne Hamscha from factor-D to give a keynote speech on "Unconscious Bias" at the end of January. The audience of up to 70 people from across the network shared their current understanding of the topic. In the following presentation, Ms Hamscha explained what unconscious bias is, what effects it can have on diversity, equity & inclusion and what barriers it can create.
