Spanning both sides of the River Wear, Riverside Park will cover 13.7 hectares of parkland and 5.3 hectares of riverfront and will be made up of five areas; Southern Gateway, Kingsley Gardens, Galley’s Gill, Lambton Riverside, and Wearmouth Riverside. Contract award 📣 Esh Construction has been appointed by Calderdale Council to finalise detailed designs for new and improved walking and cycling routes around Elland and West Vale. The Elland Access Package is set to include two new pedestrian and cycle bridges crossing the River Calder, and Calder and Hebble Navigation, as well as upgrades to existing pedestrian, cycle routes and public spaces, and new lighting and landscaping. It was given the green light by planners in November 2024 and will also support access to the planned Elland Rail Station.
