Paws of War recently hosted a reunion event for three soldiers who, for the first time since their deployment, were reunited with the dogs they cared for and rescued while serving overseas in Eastern Europe. The three soldiers traveled to Nesconset, NY from Colorado and Rhode Island to officially adopt these beloved animal friends. Paws of War is also raising awareness about the cost of Paws of War’s mission and effort to return 18 more dogs from the same overseas region. As part of its War-Torn Pups and Cats program, Paws of War recently rescued Ace, Shadow, Runtie and Racha from a military base in Eastern Europe, where they then safely travelled to the organization’s HQ in Nesconset. The four pups were struggling to survive without food and water before they were rescued by the three soldiers. Paws of War is currently on a mission to bring 18 more dogs home safely to the U.S. These four dogs are just a few of the more than 60 rescues of dogs and cats that Paws of War currently has underway around the world. These rescue missions cost thousands of dollars per animal. The Agility T-test is commonly used to assess the ability of team sport athletes to change direction. Technique Subjects were asked to sprint forwards 9.14 m from the start line to the first cone and touch the tip with their right hand, shuffle 4.57 m left to the second cone and touch with their left hand, then shuffle 9.14 m to the right to the third cone and touch with their right, shuffle 4.57 m back left to the middle cone and touch with their left hand before finally back pedaling to the start line. Time began upon subjects passing through the timing gates and stopped upon them passing through on return. The test will not be counted if the subject crosses one foot in front of the other while shuffling, fails to touch the base of the cones, or fails to face forward throughout the test.
