[#GalileoforGood] 💚 Yellow Day (the happiest day of the year) celebrated to talk about environment with smile! 🌟 This 20 of June, we organised in collaboration with ESG Act a moment of conviviality and learning at our French head office. 🐝 A "BeeWrap" workshop was led by Anoosheh Babaei and Alice F. where participants discovered how to create and use these reusable beeswax food wrappers, an eco-friendly alternative to plastic film and aluminium. Participants left with their own BeeWraps, ready to adopt this sustainable solution in their daily lives. 🍫 Nadège Bagot, a lecturer at ESG Act, delighted participants with a gourmet workshop on ethical and responsible chocolate. Participants have enjoy the subtleties of chocolate while learning about the importance of more respectful consumption, by asking themselves about the origins and labels of chocolates. 🌞 A festive occasion! We were delighted to combine education, sustainability, indulgence and well-being during "the happiest day of the year". Thank you to all our colleagues in the support services who took part and made this event so special! Well done and a big thank you to the ESG Act teams, to Jason MEREL, and to Nadège Bagot for hosting this event. #YellowDay #WeAreGalileo #ESGAct #Smile

The North American Sustainable Foods Summit is taking place this week and discussions are set to be focused around a topic I am passionate about - creating a sustainable, circular economy in the food industry. Since 2009, the Sustainable Foods Summit has covered major sustainability developments in the food industry. I’ll be keeping up with the discussions and panels taking place - I’m interested to see where the talks lead us and how industry leaders drive positive change! I’ll also be looking for more information about the European Sustainable Foods Summit, which will be in Amsterdam July 4-5! #SustainableFoods #CircularEconomy #GlobalChange

How can consumer attitudes toward seafood consumption help us understand the sustainability movement more broadly? 🇺🇸 🐟 Research by Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and GlobeScan found that when it comes to US seafood consumers: 📌 Consumers in the US are demonstrating an increasing interest in purchasing environmentally friendly products and are matching the levels of interest seen in Europe for sustainable products 📌 54% say that ecolabels on seafood products raise their trust and confidence in the brand 📌 Seven in ten want retailers’ and brands’ claims about sustainability and the environment to be clearly labelled and third-party verified. Day 2 at the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) in the French Quarter was about café au lait and beignets? Nope, cold brew coffee and yogurt! Sam Harrington took the stage as the last presentation and “food for thought” of the day to share Danone’s Decarbonization Menu. Like many companies Danone first committed to Science-Based Target and Sam figured out how exactly to meet those targets. With a broad product portfolio from beverages to baby food to my favorite Dannon yogurt, each different packaging format had a multitude of potential decarbonization pathways. Not only has Danone identified and modeled the most realistic and most radical potential packaging changes changes to achieve between 2020-2030 but to understand the carbon footprint reduction potential will and built what must be the most ambitious roadmap to a low-carbon packaging future. At Danone headquarters in Colorado, Sam built a retail “shelf of shame” at his offices to inspire further action on sustainable packaging. 👆🏼Seriously? See the image below. 📦 Sam and I met at the SPC several years ago. He is an absolute pleasure to collaborate with and an amazing human being. Why do you attend this event? To learn and meet the absolute most incredible people in packaging. If you had Sam’s roadmap, what would stop you to act? #SPCImpact #SPCImpact2024 #Decarbonization #Packaging #SustainablePackaging #Carbon #Climate
